The Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just announced the conclusion of Vice Chairman Bui Xuan Cuong at a meeting on the progress of information technology and artificial intelligence projects.

These are important conclusions that put AI technology at the heart of managing the city's construction projects.

The Digital Transformation Center is assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Construction and related Project Management Boards to immediately apply AI applications at An Phu intersection and Tan Van intersection.

AI applications must use existing data from contractors and other units in the area, including image/camera data, traffic data, BIM/GIS data.

The aim is for AI to take on roles such as assessing and forecasting construction progress and quality; monitoring labor safety at construction sites; monitoring traffic congestion in the area and automatically sending traffic warning signals when necessary.

Vice Chairman Bui Xuan Cuong requested that after successfully completing the pilot at these two intersections, the Digital Transformation Center must urgently propose to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee a plan to replicate and apply AI applications to manage other construction projects across the city.

At the same time, prepare content to introduce this AI application at activities to welcome the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Congress of Delegates.

Project Management Boards are responsible for requiring all contractors and other units in the area to provide full data (cameras, BIM/GIS, detailed daily plans on human resources, equipment, work) to the Digital Transformation Center. Units must strictly comply with current regulations on BIM (Building Information Modeling) application in project management.

In addition, the Department of Construction is assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Digital Transformation Center to report the implementation results at the An Phu and Tan Van intersections, thereby proposing to build a comprehensive Project Management software, applicable to all key projects of Ho Chi Minh City by 2030. This report must be submitted to the City People's Committee in November 2025.
