Passengers on the “digital art train” running at night in Osaka (Japan) will have the opportunity to admire the scenery on both sides of the road in a very special way.

All are dressed in a "new coat" decorated with vivid drawings created by multi-colored lights emitted from the ship.

The special train is operated by Mizuma Railway Company, headquartered in Kaizuka City, Osaka Prefecture, as part of activities to celebrate its 100th anniversary.

From now until December 1, the train will run 12 times a day along the 5.5km route connecting Kaizuka and Mizumakannon stations, between 5pm and 10pm.

Inside the two-carriage train, the company installed eight projectors to project vivid and colorful images onto the scenery outside the train windows, through special lighting techniques (projection mapping).

Mizuma-dera Temple near Mizumakannon Station, famous as the “temple that protects against evil spirits,” is also covered in this light art.

All one million images used on the trip are the work of digital artist Akira Hasegawa.

Mizuma Railway representatives said no images will be duplicated and they hope passengers will enjoy this unique experience.
