Pilot project to take civil servants, public employees and workers of Hai Phong City to work by train

Vietnam Railways Corporation has just announced that it will test run a pair of trains to transport Hai Phong City officials and employees to work by train.

It is expected that starting from September 22, about 300 officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of Hai Phong City will go to work every day by train, on the train pair coded HP15/HP16. The train consists of 5-8 soft seat cars with 64 seats.

Train number HP15, from Hai Duong station (at 6:00) arrives at Hai Phong station at 7:10, stops to pick up and drop off passengers at Thuong Ly station at 6:55. Train number HP16, from Hai Phong station at 17:15, arrives at Hai Duong station at 18:20, stops to pick up and drop off passengers at Thuong Ly station at 17:25.

The ticket price is 55,000 VND/one-way ticket. Passengers who buy round-trip tickets on the same day will receive a 20% discount on the return ticket price. Passengers traveling in groups will be entitled to the policy of buying 4 tickets for the price of 3. In addition, Hai Phong City will arrange additional buses to transport staff from the station to work and vice versa.

During the trial period, the railway industry will organize analysis and evaluation every 10 days to adjust the train schedule, adjust ticket price policies and consider the decision to continue the trial or put it into official operation to serve officials and people's travel.
