"Heart Rescue Station" exploits too many adultery stories, what does the director say?

The film Heart Rescue Station deals with the journey of Ngan Ha (Hong Diem) to find her self-worth. She thought she had a happy marriage with a loving husband, but it turned out he was hiding a disgusting side.

Not only did Nghia (Quang Su) secretly put birth control pills in his wife's milk every day, he also had a wife and children. Nghia was always clever in covering it up so Ngan Ha had no suspicions. Even on their 6th wedding anniversary, Nghia called his wife to scold her, told her he loved her, and went to the house of his mistress and her children to celebrate his 5th birthday.

It is worth mentioning that An Nhien (Luong Thu Trang) - Nghia's lover is often close to Ngan Ha. The scene where Nghia just went to his lover's house and called his wife full of love and longing, then claimed to be An Nhien's husband made many viewers angry.

On movie forums, a series of comments expressed their annoyance with this absurd and frustrating plot. These viewers said that there is no wife like An Nhien, knowing that her husband is having an affair every day, sleeping in the same bed with another woman, but still happily accepting, giving birth and supporting his plans.

The character Nghia is also considered disgusting and immoral when he both tramples on his mistress and stepchild, and secretly harms his legally recognized wife.

Many people commented that the movie was depressing and portrayed men in a terrible way.

Not only that, the film also mentions many cases of adultery: Mr. Trung (Meritorious Artist Pham Cuong) is Ngan Ha's father who also had an affair, causing his family to fall apart. In his old age, he still hides many scary secrets that affect his children. Lan - My Dinh's husband (Thuy Diem) is a "cook king" who lives off his wife's family but is still promiscuous so he is "taught" by his mother-in-law.

The film's script was therefore considered too heavy, abusing the adultery element to create conflict in the film, distorting and causing negative emotions for the audience.

Director Vu Truong Khoa affirmed that the film does not exploit the theme of adultery.

In fact, at the press conference to launch the movie Heart Rescue Station, many people questioned the movie's overuse of adultery, which can easily make the audience feel bored and dark. In response to these questions, director Vu Truong Khoa said: "When I studied screenwriting, I remember there was a formula that in building dramatic and film situations, there will only be 36 situations.

Each person tells a story differently. I can confirm that this film does not focus on the affair, it is just an element that creates the story.

Moreover, if we keep avoiding that this topic has been exploited by many people, we have to find another topic, it is not reasonable. We ourselves do art, always want to find different topics to exploit. But when we have not found such a unique topic, we can renew old topics so that the story has its own color."

Quang Su is not afraid of the audience's reaction.

On the actor's side, Quang Su said that the character Nghia is not completely "villainous", he believes that the audience will sympathize with this character: "Nghia is not completely a villain, all of his actions stem from "knots" in the past. When all the "knots" are exposed, I believe the audience can sympathize with Nghia".

The actor also confidently faced the audience's reaction to his character: "Last year, I played the role of Cong in Gia dinh minh vui bat thuc luat, the audience initially hated it but then "turned around". So with the role of Nghia, I'm not afraid that the audience will "throw stones".

I think that by acting in scenes that make the audience hate me, I have proven to be successful. I also believe that most of the audience will clearly distinguish between actor Quang Su and the character Nghia."
