Presenting the President's Decision to peacekeeping officers in South Sudan

Major Le Vinh Hoang was deployed to the Central African Republic Mission (MINUSCA) for a one-year term (2022-2023) as an Intelligence Analyst.

On the morning of October 10, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony to present the President's decision to officers on UN peacekeeping missions, chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of the Inter-sectoral Working Group, Head of the Ministry of National Defense's Steering Committee on participation in UN peacekeeping operations.

The officer on this mission is Major Le Vinh Hoang (Company Commander, Brigade 229, Engineering Corps), replacing Captain Chu Tuan Linh, taking on the position of Military Observer officer at the UNMISS mission, Republic of South Sudan.

Major Le Vinh Hoang was deployed to the Central African Republic Mission (MINUSCA) for a one-year term (2022-2023) as an Intelligence Analyst and participated in many United Nations peacekeeping training courses.

Before being deployed to the mission, Major Le Vinh Hoang personally developed a work plan, which was approved by the Head of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department. Through that, Major Le Vinh Hoang thoroughly grasped the responsibilities, tasks, and working relationships of the position he held.

To improve his ability to perform his duties, Major Hoang has proactively learned from his colleagues' experiences, actively researched, studied, and trained to acquire knowledge and practical skills for his assigned position; and is ready to attend entry training courses at the mission for newly deployed officers.

Speaking at the decision-giving ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien praised the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department and related units for doing a good job of preparing, training and creating human resources for this important task.

Expressing his belief that Major Le Vinh Hoang will promote his bravery and highest sense of responsibility to overcome difficulties in the area and successfully complete his tasks, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien requested him to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and military discipline as well as the regulations of the United Nations and the laws of the host country; ensure absolute safety throughout his term of office; promote the tradition of the Vietnam People's Army, demonstrate a sense of responsibility, proactively learn and cooperate with international colleagues, and confidently demonstrate his bravery and professional capacity.

With the experience gained from Major Le Vinh Hoang's previous tenure at the Central African Republic mission, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien hopes that Major Hoang will make good use of it to be able to immediately start working at the mission in South Sudan.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien said that recently, Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7 and Engineering Team No. 4 have departed for the United Nations peacekeeping mission, contributing to expanding the quantity and quality of Vietnam's peacekeeping force, raising the number of officers and professional soldiers deployed by the Ministry of National Defense in both individual and unit form.

Deputy Minister Hoang Xuan Chien hopes that in the coming time, many outstanding individuals and units of the Vietnam People's Army will continue to be deployed to participate in peacekeeping activities, especially in high-ranking positions at missions and the United Nations Headquarters, thereby enhancing the position and image of Vietnam in the eyes of international friends.

Expressing his honor and pride at being assigned and receiving the mission, Major Le Vinh Hoang affirmed that he was ready to depart with the highest enthusiasm and determination; at the same time, he affirmed that he would maintain internal and international solidarity, determined to excellently complete the mission assigned by the United Nations, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense.

Along with that, Major Le Vinh Hoang said that he will regularly study and evaluate the situation to proactively ensure security, safety and promptly handle situations when performing tasks, ensuring absolute safety for people and equipment; strengthen communication work, actively participate in humanitarian activities, contributing to spreading the image of the country and people of Vietnam as friendly, humane, peace-loving and the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" to international friends and colleagues./.
