Photo and video exhibition “Happy Vietnam” at the Socio-Economic Achievements Exhibition on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day

Within the framework of the National Achievement Exhibition celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Exhibition Area with the theme "Happy Vietnam" officially opened at the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi). This is a cultural highlight, spreading the message of simple, close-to-life values ​​of happiness in the daily life of Vietnamese people.

Happy Vietnam is a photo and video contest on the Vietnam Image Promotion Platform - Vietnam.vn, with the goal of encouraging all people across the country, overseas Vietnamese and international friends, to apply digital technology to create photos and videos about the country and people of Vietnam. Since its launch in June 2023, the contest has received 20,000 photos.

The exhibition area with the theme “Happy Vietnam” includes 150 photos and 30 videos on 3 themes: Land of Happiness, Happy People, Happy Moments. The exhibition is combined with 3D/VR/Metaverse virtual reality technology.

What is special is that these photos and videos were selected from 20,000 works not only from professional photographers but also from Vietnamese people at home and abroad, foreign tourists and those living and working in Vietnam, sent to the Award on the digital platform promoting the image of Vietnam Vietnam.vn.

150 photos were selected and displayed according to three themes:

- Land of Happiness: Introducing natural beauty, cultural heritage and richness of regions.

- Happy People: Portrays the portrait of Vietnamese people in work, study, creativity and sharing.

- Happy Moments: Capture emotional everyday moments, reminding us that happiness comes from the simplest things.

Each photo and video is not only a work of art but also a vivid story about the spiritual values ​​of the Vietnamese people. The greatest strength is always the strength of the People. The greatest creativity is always the creativity of the People. The strongest vitality is always the vitality of the People. 20,000 photos and videos are vivid proof of the strength, creativity and vitality of the People. Digital technology and digital platforms have created conditions for every citizen, no matter where they are, with a smartphone and 4G/5G coverage, to be creative and to contribute their voice to create a Vietnam of the people.

External information: Digital technology expands experiences

An attractive point of the exhibition is the application of modern technology through 3D mapping and augmented reality (AR), visitors can explore the entire exhibition of 80 years of digital socio-economic achievements, multi-layer digital maps of 34 provinces and cities, directly interact with images, sounds and vivid digital space. All of this data is uploaded to the digital space through the vietnam.vn platform so that people around the world can experience it when they do not have the opportunity to visit the exhibition directly.

Vietnam.vn image promotion platform gathers information from press agencies, central and local information portals, integrates Happy Vietnam social network and Vietnam promotion database, translated into 10 languages ​​using advanced Google Translate tool. Currently, Vietnam.vn is an external information platform serving millions of readers with 80% access rate from abroad.

In addition, with 29,220 gifts with QR codes attached for visitors to experience the Vietnam promotion platform, VR technology associated with familiar landmarks.

Basic information to "catch the wave" of new trends

In the Exhibition Area, there will be a booth introducing the grassroots information system across the country. Currently, the grassroots communication network has reached every small alley, every roof through the familiar ward loudspeaker. The whole country currently has more than 3,000 commune-level radio stations and more than 49,500 radio stations applying IT - telecommunications in regular operation.

In particular, with more than 70 million Zalo users, agencies and units have quickly "caught the wave" of the new trend by creating 3,321 Zalo OA pages, turning smartphones into "loudspeakers in hand". Along with that, more than 137,000 grassroots propagandists are still enthusiastic day and night, contributing to making official information reach the people, as close as neighborhood stories.

The journey of knowledge continues

The exhibition offers a space that is both familiar and creative. In addition to products associated with the childhood memories of many generations of students, the exhibition also introduces special collections such as:

- “80 Years + S” notebook: Symbolizes the ever-expanding journey of knowledge.

- Handbook "34 provinces and cities": Shows the diversity and richness of Vietnamese culture and people.

- “Happy Vietnam” notebook: Spreading the desire for creativity, innovation and advancement of the young generation. Through iconic products, Hong Ha Stationery contributes to highlighting the message “happiness comes from knowledge, sharing and creativity”.

All 29,220 products will be given away to visitors. The gifts are a combination of daily necessities for students and offices with images of happy Vietnam and digital technology.

Lacquer paintings: the depth of traditional art

Along with modern technology and products closely related to life, the exhibition also honors traditional art through lacquer works by folk artisans. With the technique of many layers of paint, engraving and metallic sheen, Latoa brings to the public a visual experience rich in depth, both elegant and modern. In particular, there are works bearing a strong historical imprint such as the painting of the "Proclamation on the Transfer of the Capital" issued by King Ly Thai To when moving the capital from Hoa Lu (Ninh Binh) to Thang Long (Hanoi). These works are not only pure art but also "slices of history and culture" - where Vietnamese traditions are preserved and conveyed through the language of contemporary art.

Visitors not only get to see lacquer paintings but also get to experience making folk paintings with the artists. 1,000 gifts are paintings made by visitors themselves, the result of their own creations.

Where the public creates Happiness together

“Happy Vietnam” is not only a place to admire but also a space for the public to participate and create. Many interesting interactive activities are organized such as:

- Take photos at the photobooth to keep memorable moments here.

- "Happiness Tree" will be the place where each person sends their personal message.

- Photo and video contest “Happy Vietnam 2025”: encourages the public to share photos and videos of the happiness they witness.

- The digital painting “Map of Happiness” is made up of 800 pieces.

The exhibition will create a vibrant space where happiness is not only seen but also created and shared.

In particular, each visitor to the exhibition will receive a Happiness Passport, recording their experience journey at the exhibition and will accompany them on a tour around the country. That journey will be photos of the places and provinces we visit, pasted on the page of each locality. The Happiness Passport is a companion, helping us preserve time.

Message: Happiness from simple things

Through the exhibition space, the Organizing Committee hopes to spread the message of a happy Vietnam - where happiness comes from great achievements, expressed through everyday moments: children's smiles, working hands, and a spirit of endless creativity.

The exhibition is also an affirmation: After 80 years of independence, Vietnam has not only grown strongly in terms of economy and society, but also put the happiness of the people at the center of development. This is the core value that creates endogenous strength and confidence in the future.

- Promoting the image of Vietnam: A beautiful country with diverse nature, stretching from majestic mountains and forests to the vast ocean. The North has the Hoang Lien Son range with Fansipan peak, the terraced fields of Sapa and Mu Cang Chai. The Red River Delta and the Mekong River are fertile rice granaries. The sea is more than 3,200 km long with many beautiful beaches such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Ha Long Bay... National forests and the world-famous Son Doong cave. The four seasons bring their own nuances, creating a natural picture that is both majestic and poetic.

- Affirming the country's achievements : After 80 years, Vietnam has made great strides in economy, culture, education, science - technology and international integration. These achievements affirm Vietnam's increasingly high position in the international arena, and are a solid foundation for sustainable development in the future.
