Hong Linh Medical Center opens artificial kidney unit

On the morning of October 8, Hong Linh Medical Center (Bac Hong Linh Ward, Ha Tinh) held the inauguration and opening of the artificial kidney unit in the Emergency - Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department.

Leaders of the Department of Health and Bac Hong Linh ward cut the ribbon to inaugurate the artificial kidney unit at Hong Linh Medical Center.

The artificial kidney unit was installed by Hong Linh Medical Center in the Emergency - Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department with 6 modern blood filtration machines and an international standard RO water treatment system, with a total cost of 3.2 billion VND from the investment source of the People's Committee of Hong Linh town (old).

Regarding human resources, Hong Linh Medical Center has sent teams of doctors, nurses, and technicians to attend training courses at Nghe An Friendship General Hospital. Nghe An Friendship General Hospital has also transferred techniques, provided guidance, and guided work right at the center. Up to now, there are 2 doctors, 4 nurses, and 1 RO technician performing hemodialysis. The hemodialysis unit performs 2 shifts/day of hemodialysis on all days of the week (except Sundays).

Currently, the artificial kidney unit has received and treated nearly 20 patients living in Bac Hong Linh and Nam Hong Linh wards and some neighboring communes registered for treatment here.

The operation of the artificial kidney unit creates conditions for many patients, especially poor patients in the old Hong Linh town and neighboring communes, to not have to travel far for dialysis, reducing effort, cost and time. At the same time, it contributes to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment at Hong Linh Medical Center.

The artificial kidney unit of Hong Linh Medical Center has 6 modern blood filtration machines, along with an RO water treatment system that meets international standards.

Doctor Nguyen Thai Lam - Director of Hong Linh Medical Center said: "In the coming time, the center will coordinate with the Department of Health, local Party Committees and authorities to call for funding, continue to invest in more blood filtration machines, and provide many optimal care services for patients with kidney failure such as: Emergency blood filtration, blood filtration using HDF - Online direct replacement fluid ultrafiltration technique...".
