Hang Du Muc Shop reopens, selling Xinjiang apples that are about to expire

Recently, many users have seen promotional videos for Xinjiang red apples, branded Hang Du Muc, on TikTok Shop. KOCs (advertisers and sellers) use attractive words to invite customers to click on the link to buy products from the shop “HANGKAT”. This is one of the accounts Hang Du Muc used to post products.

After the Kera vegetable candy scandal, Hang Du Muc group and Miss Thuy Tien were prosecuted, temporarily detained, and all items on the TikTok Shop account were removed. Meanwhile, the online sales point on Shopee was put on "Temporarily closed" status. Currently, these shops are all open and operating again.

Currently, TikTok Shop HANGKAT is listing 3 products including “Xinjiang Red Apple” with two types of old and new packaging, along with “Malt Chocolate” and “Zhongning - Ningxia Goji Berries” (free gift, not for sale). According to the introductory videos, the Red Apple with old packaging is about to expire, and is cheap from 90,000 VND. Meanwhile, the new type is twice as expensive.

The Hang Du Muc TikTok account has been inactive for a long time, but still links to this shop. Similar items are also available on Shopee, but the price is about 30% higher.

Previously, according to a report from e-commerce analysis platform Metric.vn, the TikTok Shop booth named Hang Du Muc - HANGKAT recorded sales of 58.1 billion VND in the first quarter, an increase of 312% over the same period. In addition, other booths distributing Hang Du Muc brand products also achieved total sales of 58.7 billion VND , a surge of 434%.

Hang Du Muc - HANGKAT is one of 3 official stores on TikTok Shop run by TikToker Hang Du Muc (real name Nguyen Thi Thai Hang).

The main products sold include red apples, chocolate, red wolfberries, raisins, herbal tea, melted egg cakes... Among them, Xinjiang red apples are the most popular item in livestream sessions, once "sold out" several tons just a few minutes after opening for sale.

In a post in August 2024, Hang Du Muc confirmed that she was the one who directly registered and owned the copyright of these products. Besides Hang's channel, Quang Linh Vlogs is the only account confirmed to be an "official" distributor in Vietnam.

Hang and other members related to Chi Em Rot Group JSC were prosecuted and temporarily detained by the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Department in April. These individuals were accused of "Deceiving customers" and "Producing fake food products" in connection with the Kera vegetable candy product case.
