On the morning of September 22, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with Dear Our Community, officially launched the Campus Sustainability Hub (CSH). This model opens up a comprehensive learning and experience space for students, while realizing the sustainable university program.
CSH is built as an open educational ecosystem, helping students not only learn theory but also practice skills, change awareness, receive job networks and start creative businesses in the fields of sustainable development. In the first year, the community aims to attract 1,000 students to participate, forming a dynamic group to spread awareness of environmental protection and social responsibility.
At the launch, Mr. Tran Nam, Head of Student Affairs Department, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, shared: “CSH is not only a new learning space, but also a bridge for students to access knowledge, skills and career information in the field of sustainable development. We believe that this will be the foundation to help them become global citizens, know how to live responsibly and act for the community”.
In the initial phase, the community focuses on three core elements for students. One is thinking - forming a comprehensive view of sustainable development and how to apply it to each major. Two is skills to equip professional skills through training courses, simulation activities and sharing sessions with experts, to increase competitive advantage in the green economy . Three is tools - providing internship opportunities, jobs, and practical toolkits for students to apply immediately to real projects.
The establishment of CSH not only expands development opportunities for students but also supports the implementation of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With the principle of "learning goes hand in hand with practice", the community aims at a young generation rich in knowledge and awareness, with a sense of responsibility towards society and the environment.
Also this morning, CSH opened with a workshop on “Job opportunities in the field of sustainable development: Understand correctly - do correctly”, providing an overview of the needs and fluctuations of the modern labor market. The event also announced the Sustainable Development Club - USSH Youth Sustainability, with the slogan “Youth for change, Sustainability for all”.
