On the morning of October 22, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education (HCMUTE) held a ceremony to announce and hand over the research results of the Project on training international-level human resources in the field of mechanics and automation.
The project of training human resources with international standards in the field of mechanics and automation was assigned by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education to develop. The project development team has completed the project on time and successfully accepted it in March 2025.
According to Dr. Quach Thanh Hai, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, the mechanical engineering and automation industry is not only the "backbone" of modern production, but also the foundation for the formation of new industries such as industrial robots, advanced materials technology, and precision manufacturing.
To develop this field, Ho Chi Minh City needs a team of engineers and experts with both a solid theoretical foundation and international-level practical and creative thinking skills. Therefore, Dr. Hai assessed that the development of a project to train international-level human resources in the mechanical engineering and automation industry plays a very important role in improving the quality of the city's human resources.
With the research results of the project, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education will pilot an international training program in the field of mechanics and automation. “This is a completely worthy and reasonable choice, demonstrating Ho Chi Minh City’s trust in the school’s academic capacity, prestige and pioneering role,” Dr. Hai assessed.
The leaders of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education said they will maximize the results of the Project, proactively deploy the pilot training model effectively, contributing to providing Ho Chi Minh City with high-quality human resources.
Ms. Truong Hai Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that the Project of training international-level human resources of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee needs the support of prestigious universities, especially those with strengths in research, technology transfer and training of high-quality human resources.
The leader of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that the results achieved today are the result of the research team's continuous efforts, along with close and decisive direction from the school's leaders.
The mechanical and automation training program is developed based on the experience of advanced training models, while ensuring suitability with the specific characteristics of engineer training in Vietnam, aiming to improve the quality of human resources in the field of mechanical and automation according to international standards.
In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education enrolled the first course of the program, marking an important first step in the journey of training high-quality human resources for the field of mechanics and automation.
