(Dan Tri) - Regarding the decision to suspend Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang from work and position, Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology said it was to ensure the rights of students.

On October 8, Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology (UMT) announced its decision to temporarily suspend Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang, Director of the Institute of Sports Science and Management, from work and position.

According to the school, the decision to temporarily suspend Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang from work and position was made in accordance with the school's labor regulations, the provisions of the 2019 Labor Code and implementing guidelines.

Regarding the transfer of the Department of Sports Management from the Institute of Sports Science and Management to the Faculty of Business as well as the assignment of a member of the Board of Directors to be in charge of the Institute of Sports Science and Management, according to the school, this is a matter related to the school's internal management and operation activities that has been approved by the School Council in accordance with proper procedures.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology also said that this transfer is a change in management and does not affect student training.

The school resolves related issues in the most appropriate manner to ensure the interests of students and the reputation of the school.

The above move by Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology was made after the school's decision to temporarily suspend Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang from work and position from January 7 to January 21.

The reason for the suspension is because the school needs to verify and clarify related issues after receiving many accusations from individuals about Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang and this information is affecting the school's reputation.

The temporary suspension decision clearly states that during the above period, Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang is temporarily suspended from work at school and is not allowed to contact students or parents.
