(Dan Tri) - From a captured message posted on social media, many students are worried that Ho Chi Minh City National University will limit the age of the competency assessment exam from 2025.
This concern stems from a photo of a text message exchange believed to be between a candidate and the Ho Chi Minh City National University fanpage. This message was posted on the evening of November 12 on a Ho Chi Minh City National University exam review fanpage with tens of thousands of members.
The message, believed to be between a candidate and the Ho Chi Minh City National University Fanpage, led to discussion about the age of candidates for the Ho Chi Minh City National University aptitude test (Photo: HN).
The message content shows that, in the response to the candidate, the Ho Chi Minh City National University Fanpage responded: "The 2025 capacity assessment exam has an age limit, only for 12th grade candidates applying to universities".
When this candidate asked again if those born from 2006 and later would not be allowed to take the exam, the Ho Chi Minh City National University Fanpage replied: "Yes".
The content of the above message was released right after Ho Chi Minh City National University announced the structure of the competency assessment test to be applied from 2025 on the afternoon of November 12, causing more discussion about the age of participants in this exam.
Many candidates said that with this age limit, those who study late or want to retake the university entrance exam will not have the opportunity to take the Ho Chi Minh City National University’s aptitude test. Thus, many opportunities for their plans are closed to them.
In response to this stir, on the morning of November 13, Ho Chi Minh City National University responded that since the start of the capacity assessment exam in 2018, Ho Chi Minh City National University has clearly defined the exam subjects. Specifically, the exam subjects include:
People studying grade 12 of high school program or continuing education program of high school level in the year of exam organization;
People who have completed high school but have not taken the high school graduation exam or have taken the exam but not graduated from high school in previous years;
People who have graduated from high school; people who have graduated from intermediate level and have a high school diploma (according to the provisions of the Law on Education and guiding documents for implementation) or have graduated from a foreign high school program abroad or in Vietnam (allowed by the host country to implement, achieving a level equivalent to the high school level of Vietnam).
Thus, students in grade 12 or those who graduated from high school in previous years, regardless of age, can register to take the competency assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University.
