Domestic USD exchange rate today

Today (November 12), the State Bank announced the central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the USD at 24,267 VND/USD, an increase of 4 VND compared to yesterday.

With a 5% margin, commercial banks are allowed to trade today at a ceiling rate of VND25,480/USD and a floor rate of VND23,054/USD.

The reference USD exchange rate at the State Bank's Transaction Office remains at 23,400-25,450 VND/USD (buy - sell).

At commercial banks, USD prices were adjusted up after a sharp decrease in the previous two sessions.

On the selling side, USD price at commercial banks is listed at the ceiling price of 25,480 VND/USD.

On the buying side, banks simultaneously adjusted the greenback price up, with one bank increasing by 90 VND compared to the listed price early this morning.

Specifically, at the opening of today's trading session, Vietcombank increased the USD cash buying price to 25,090 VND/USD, an increase of 5 VND compared to the beginning of yesterday's trading session (November 11).

Similarly, BIDV also increased the greenback buying price by 20 VND, bringing the price to 25,135 VND/USD.

Meanwhile, VietinBank raised the USD buying price to 25,163 VND/USD, an increase of 88 VND.

In the private banking sector, Techcombank raised the USD buying price by 90 VND, to 25,147 VND/USD.

Sacombank also increased the USD buying price to 25,160 VND/USD, 80 VND more expensive.

Eximbank raised the cash buying price of USD to 25,140 VND/USD, an increase of 60 VND compared to the listed price early this morning.

Similarly, the USD price in the free market was also adjusted up slightly. This morning, the free USD price was bought and sold from 25,610-25,720 VND/USD, an increase of 40 VND in buying price and 50 VND more expensive in selling price compared to the previous session.

In the world market, the USD price continues to rise. The US Dollar Index (a measure of the strength of the greenback compared to other major currencies) at 10:05 a.m. on November 12 (Vietnam time) was at 105.6 points, up 0.05% compared to the previous session.

The USD price continues its positive trend since Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election.

The greenback surged to a four-month high last week after Donald Trump was declared the winner of the race for the White House.

However, the USD's rally last weekend slowed down as the US Federal Reserve (Fed) cut interest rates by another 25 basis points.
