'Color man's' Dien Quan group of companies owes huge tax debts

Three companies in the Dien Quan ecosystem owe nearly 75 billion VND in taxes

Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department 14 has just announced the list of taxpayers with tax debts and other revenues to the state budget. Notably, Dien Quan group of companies continues to be on the list of large tax debts.

According to this list, there are 1,165 taxpayers named in the tax debt list with a total debt of more than 1,114 billion VND. At the top is Dat Lanh Real Estate Company Limited with a debt of more than 95.3 billion VND, followed by Saigon Technology Engineering Joint Stock Company with a tax debt of 54.2 billion VND.

Tan Vu Minh Construction - Investment and Real Estate Trading Company Limited ranked next with tax debt of more than 40.3 billion VND. Hung Dao Container Joint Stock Company owed more than 38 billion VND. Thu Thiem Housing Development Joint Stock Company owed more than 30.1 billion VND in taxes.

Dien Quan Group of companies includes: Dien Quan Group Joint Stock Company owes nearly 29.4 billion VND in taxes; Dien Quan Network Digital Entertainment Joint Stock Company owes 24.5 billion VND in taxes; Dien Quan Network Digital Entertainment Joint Stock Company (HTKD) owes 20.97 billion VND in taxes.

Thus, a total of three companies in the Dien Quan ecosystem of businessman Do Van Buu Dien (Color man) owe nearly 75 billion VND in taxes.

The three companies are located at 33 Van Kiep, Gia Dinh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

Many companies in the Dien Quan ecosystem have ceased operations.

Dien Quan Group Joint Stock Company, formerly Dien Quan Media and Entertainment Company Limited, was established in 2006, later converted into Dien Quan Group Joint Stock Company.

This is one of the largest entertainment content production companies in the South, behind a series of popular TV shows such as "Comedy Challenge", "Whose Voice Is It", "Lyric Battle", " Food Paradise"...

The development of Dien Quan is closely associated with the name of Do Van Buu Dien (born in 1969), commonly known by the nickname Color man. He was a veteran editor of Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) before turning to the entertainment business.

However, from 2023 until now, Dien Quan group of companies has continuously been on the list of tax arrears and has also stopped producing entertainment programs.

In addition to the three companies above, Mr. Do Van Buu Dien also represents many other companies, but among these, many businesses have been determined by the tax authorities to be inactive at the registered business address, or have ceased operations but have not completed the procedures to close the tax code.

At the end of May, Mr. Do Van Buu Dien registered to establish two more companies, Saigon Cool Water Company Limited and Little Giants Entertainment Company Limited, and he also holds the role of director.
