According to the Organizing Committee, the "Nurturing Smiles" program will officially coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans to implement meaningful activities at the end of October 2025. The main activity is to award scholarships, learning tools, computers and sewing machines to serve teaching and vocational training for students with disabilities.
During his time accompanying the program at schools in the northern highlands, Mr. Nguyen The Ky, former General Director of Voice of Vietnam, expressed: “I was very moved when I joined the organizing committee to personally deliver gifts to the children of ethnic minorities who are still facing many difficulties and deprivation. Through the interactions and conversations, I felt the positive energy from the children. I also want to spread humane stories and messages to the community and society.”
At the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, President of the Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans of Ho Chi Minh City said: "This is a meaningful volunteer activity, contributing to timely encouragement to those in special circumstances, so that they can be more confident to integrate into society."
The program not only provided material support but also a great source of spiritual encouragement. This was demonstrated through a special dance performance by students at Binh Thanh Hope Special School for the Deaf, bringing emotion and joy to all attendees.
The program "Nurturing Smiles" was initiated and organized by CHAGEE Vietnam with the message "Sowing love, nurturing knowledge". Before coming to Ho Chi Minh City, this unit had left a deep impression in 7 northern mountainous provinces.
During the meaningful journey in the Northwest, the volunteer group donated a total of 14,000 notebooks, 2,100 gifts including school supplies, necessities and especially 25 gifts specifically for students in especially difficult circumstances. In addition, 14 "Nurturing Knowledge" book corners with hundreds of books were set up to arouse the love of reading for children in the highlands.
