Chut ethnic people ( Quang Binh ) participate in training courses on preserving and promoting cultural values.
According to the guidelines, the general objective of the Project is to restore, preserve and promote the fine traditional cultural values of ethnic groups; train and develop cultural and tourism staff at the grassroots level; support investment in cultural facilities and equipment for ethnic minority and mountainous areas. The specific objective is to strive for 80% of villages to have community houses; 50% of villages to have traditional cultural and artistic teams that operate regularly and with quality.
The special highlight of the Project is the principle of focused, key and sustainable investment, focusing on the most difficult communes, villages and hamlets; solving the most pressing and urgent problems; prioritizing support for poor households and the most difficult ethnic minority groups. At the same time, ensuring publicity, democracy, promoting the right to ownership and active, proactive participation of the community and people; promoting the spirit of striving of ethnic minorities.
The Project’s activities not only aim at preserving culture but also create new livelihoods for people through community tourism. Hundreds of typical tourist destinations in ethnic minority areas will be supported to build, along with thousands of new or renovated cultural and sports facilities in villages. Models of cultural villages, ecological museums, folk activity clubs, etc. will also be widely deployed, both preserving traditional heritage and helping people exploit cultural values for tourism, increasing income.
In particular, training courses on tourism and heritage conservation will be organized for artisans, village elders, village chiefs and prestigious people - the "cultural cores" in the community. They will become a bridge between the past and the present, teaching unique cultural features of their people, and at the same time helping to guide the community to participate in tourism in a systematic and effective way.
With a people-centered orientation, Project 6 is expected to not only preserve cultural heritage but also expand opportunities for poverty reduction, improve the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities, helping highland villages both preserve their identity and develop sustainable economies./.
