TPO - Currently, Dong Da District People's Committee is implementing the project to synchronously renovate the technical infrastructure of Dong Da Lake urban landscape. However, a part of the lake was filled up, not in the planning and design, which surprised the people.

From July 2024, the entire Dong Da Lake area (also known as Hoang Cau Lake in Dong Da district) will be fenced to implement the Project of synchronously renovating the technical infrastructure of Dong Da Lake urban landscape.

On October 31, 2023, the People's Council of Dong Da district approved the investment policy, assigning the District Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor. By March 29, 2024, the People's Committee of Dong Da district had approved the project with a total investment of more than 297 billion VND. The winning contractor is Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation (VINACONEX).

However, many people around the area were extremely surprised when the construction unit leveled and drove piles into the lake bed (Hoang Cau street area), causing the lake surface area to narrow.

Thousands of square meters of Dong Da Lake surface were filled, machinery was operating busily.

Notably, there are areas that are not in the perspective that are also filled in. In the photo is the lake section adjacent to lane 38 Hoang Cau which is not in the perspective.

Perspective of Dong Da Lake renovation was announced earlier

Dong Da Lake Peninsula is also fenced with piles for the purpose of expansion. Dong Da Lake Peninsula was originally planned to implement the "Investment project to renovate and upgrade Dong Da Lake Peninsula entertainment area" with the expectation of becoming an entertainment area, serving the spiritual life of the people in the area. In 2010, Hanoi granted an investment certificate to Ha Thuy Development Investment Joint Stock Company to implement the project on a land area of ​​over 5,600m2 with a lease term of 50 years.

Informing the press, Vinaconex Corporation (construction contractor) admitted to the above-mentioned leveling activities.

The project contractor said that the area of ​​the embankment is part of the construction method design to serve as a staging area for construction machinery and equipment and a temporary road to serve pile driving and construction of a walking path around the lake.

This unit affirmed: After completing the construction of the walkway structure, the contractor will proceed to dispose of this material according to regulations.

It is known that Dong Da Lake has an area of ​​about 13.3 hectares. To the East and Southeast is Hoang Cau Street connecting Lang Street to De La Thanh and running around the lake is Dang Tien Dong - Mai Anh Tuan Street. The streets around Dong Da Lake have a length of 1,270m with a current cross-section of 6.5m.

It is expected that after renovation and upgrading, Dong Da Lake will become spacious, clean and beautiful with modern architecture, in sync with existing works.

The representative of Dong Da District People's Committee added that the project will renovate, expand and upgrade the walking path below on the basis of the existing embankment with rough natural stone surface. Replace the railing system around the lake that has been degraded and damaged. Plant new trees, replace some shade trees that are rotten, leaning, broken, and not of the urban tree type; arrange a system of carpet trees, decorative shrubs interspersed with the seating system, walking path along the lake...

The landfill area is not included in the design perspective.
