Why do Meritorious Artist Vo Minh Lam and Tu Suong create attraction for "The Road to San Hau Thanh"?

On the evening of March 9, Sao Phuong Nam stage debuted the famous traditional opera "The Road to San Hau Thanh" (author Nguyen Quang Nha, director Vo Hoang Phuong, art advisor Meritorious Artist Ngoc Dung) at Tran Huu Trang Theater.

Meritorious Artist Vo Minh Lam (as Dong Kim Lan) and Tu Suong (as Phan Phung Co) received enthusiastic cheers from audiences who love traditional opera. Both are stars who captivate audiences with their mature singing and acting, and beautiful use of dance and martial arts under the guidance of Meritorious Artist Ngoc Dung.

In addition, the attraction also comes from the coordination, which is a solid support for other characters. Both are truly considered the center of attention because of their constant creativity in each scene.

Meritorious Artist Tu Suong (as Phan Phung Co) and Artist Lam Minh Nghiem (as King Te)

"San Hau" (meaning "the citadel behind the mountain") is a famous and classic Tuong work, converging the basic artistic characteristics of this unique art form in terms of content, music and acting. When adapting it into traditional Tuong opera, author Nguyen Quang Nha relied on the script of Hat Boi to exploit the feudal king-subject relationship, the heroes who sacrificed themselves for a great cause, were loyal to the king, and at the same time deeply portrayed the beauty of the human soul such as blood ties, sacrifice and gratitude are integrated into the story.

The play highlighted the heroic, indomitable fighting spirit, the example of loyalty and selflessness of the heroes who protected the country. At the same time, the audience felt the noble, loyal, sincere fighting friendship of the two typical characters Dong Kim Lan and Khuong Linh Ta (played by artist Hoang Hai).

Taking advantage of the death of the King of Qi, the Xie brothers, headed by the treacherous Grand Preceptor Xie Tianling, plotted to usurp the throne by establishing a "Tieu Giang Son" (private palace) and framed the concubine Phan Phung Co, falsely accusing her of killing the King of Qi. Upon hearing this news, Dong Kim Lan and Khuong Linh Ta (two loyal ministers under the Qi Dynasty) immediately sought every way to save Phan Phung Co.

The play "The Road to San Hau Thanh" was seriously staged by director Vo Hoang Phuong.

Out of concern for the Qi dynasty's foundation and the desire to restore the country, Dong Jinlan and Jiang Lingta joined forces to bring the Concubine back to San Houcheng safely.

The unique performance when Khuong Linh Ta was beheaded by Ta On Dinh, then turned into a lamp to help Dong Kim Lan cross high and deep mountains was awaited by the audience and the artists did not disappoint, because the singing and acting style was portrayed as a beautiful symbol of precious friendship, rare in the world.

The show ended at midnight because it packed many big scenes into 4 hours. However, the audience still stayed to watch and cheer enthusiastically.

The play features the participation of artists: Meritorious Artist Van Ha (as Dong My Tran), Meritorious Artist Tam Tam (as Ta Nguyet Kieu), artist Le Thanh Thao (as Ta Ngoc Dung), Hoang Hai (as Khuong Linh Ta), Chi Bao (as Ta On Dinh), Chi Cuong (as Phan Dinh Cong), Hoai Thanh (as Trieu Man Nhi), Artist Hung Vuong (as Ta Kim Lang), Lam Minh Nghiem (playing the two roles of Te Thien Vuong and Te Thien Ton), Phu Yen (as Phan Diem), Son Minh (as Ta Loi Khuong), Chi Dung (as Ta Loi Nhuoc), Thanh Thuan (as Eunuch).

In particular, the Nguyen Lam martial arts group and the Kim Long dance troupe created a synchronized effect, bringing beauty to this classic play.
