Why does the Hanoi Department of Education and Training plan to propose holding the 10th grade exam at the end of June?

TPO - In 2025, the 10th grade entrance exam will be held in early June, before the High School Graduation Exam. This year, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training plans to propose to the City People's Committee to organize the 10th grade entrance exam at the end of June 2026.

According to the leader of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, this year, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued a time frame for the 2025-2026 school year, in which the expected time for the 2026 high school graduation exam is from June 11-12, 2026, 2 weeks earlier than in 2025.

To organize the high school graduation exam, localities will have to prepare facilities and mobilize staff and teachers to serve the exam. After the exam ends, the Department of Education and Training will also send staff and teachers to participate in marking the exam and completing the post-exam stages.

This year, the Ministry of Education and Training plans to organize the High School Graduation Exam 2 weeks earlier than last year, so the 10th grade entrance exam schedule in localities will change.

Therefore, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training is calculating and planning to propose organizing the 10th grade entrance exam at the end of June 2026. This adjustment is to ensure compliance with the 2026-2027 school year schedule issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and at the same time create conditions for 9th grade students to have more time to review.

The Hanoi People's Committee has also issued the 2025-2026 school year time plan framework for preschool education , general education and continuing education in Hanoi.

Accordingly, schools across the city will open on September 5, 2025 (Friday); end the first semester before January 18, 2026; complete the program and end the school year before May 31, 2026. Consideration of recognition of completion of primary school program and recognition of secondary school graduation before June 30, 2026; Complete enrollment of first-grade classes before July 31, 2026.

The Hanoi City school year schedule does not have a time to organize the 10th grade entrance exam. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training will have a report on the exam time and exam plan suitable to the actual situation of the school year.
