After negotiations, the Swedish sailing team signed an agreement with Fleur de Lys Hospitality (Vietnam) to change its name to the Binh Dinh - Vietnam Formula 1 powerboat racing team to participate in international competitions and world championships organized by the International Powerboat Federation (UIM). The Binh Dinh - Vietnam team consists of two members: the reigning world champion Jonas Andersson, who leads the team, and Stefan Arand, a newcomer from Estonia. The 2024 Binh Dinh Grand Prix International Powerboat Racing, including the ABP Aquabike Championship and the F1H2O Formula 1 Powerboat World Championship, will bring together more than 70 athletes, who are the world's top racers. Recently, the Binh Dinh - Vietnam F1H2O Powerboat Racing Team achieved impressive results in the qualifying race day held on Lake Toba, Indonesia. It is expected that after this race, the whole team will be present in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province to prepare to conquer the second race. Having a racing team participating in this tournament, along with Binh Dinh being the chosen location to host the tournament, will be an opportunity to promote the image of Binh Dinh in particular and Vietnam in general to the world.
