Viettel announces chain of logistics automation solutions

A comprehensive automation solution chain for the logistics industry developed by Viettel Post, automates all stages in the transportation chain from warehousing to delivery with an error rate of almost 0.

On October 1, the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) announced a series of comprehensive automation solutions for the logistics industry at the Vietnam Innovation Day 2024.

Visiting Viettel's booth, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the role of technology platforms in digital infrastructure and national logistics infrastructure.

The comprehensive automation solution chain for the logistics industry developed by Viettel Post automates all stages in the transportation chain from warehousing to delivery. At logistics complexes applying the solution chain, processing capacity increases by 40%, the error rate is almost zero. Viettel Post's entire system load is currently 4,000,000 parcels/day, equivalent to meeting 50% of e-commerce capacity in Vietnam. The automation solution chain is the technological foundation for Viettel's national logistics infrastructure construction strategy, including logistics parks, smart border gates, dry ports - infrastructures connecting goods between Vietnam, the region and the world . All robots, conveyor systems and control software systems in the stages of storage, picking, packaging and sorting are completely technologically owned by Viettel. Currently, the solution chain is applied at all Viettel Post operation centers, including the first and largest smart sorting technology complex in Vietnam at Quang Minh Industrial Park ( Hanoi ) and the 130-hectare logistics center in Lang Son. In 2024, Viettel will invest in Laos, Thailand and China with the orientation of providing a complete solution for cross-border logistics and deploying the Vietnam - China intermodal railway route, thereby deploying many new routes connecting Southeast Asian countries. At the Vietnam Innovation Day 2024, Viettel demonstrated 4 autonomous robots in the solution chain: drone (unmanned aircraft transporting goods in hard-to-reach locations), AGV sorting robot (autonomous robot sorting goods), AGV picking transport robot (autonomous robot with a load capacity of 1 ton transporting large blocks of goods), arm robot (robot applying computer vision to pick, lift and move goods). Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited Viettel's booth at the event and appreciated the role of technology platforms in digital infrastructure and national logistics infrastructure. Also at the event, Viettel introduced the 5G device ecosystem and green data center model. The 5G baseband transceiver station and 5G baseband processing block developed by Viettel High Tech will serve the widespread deployment of 5G in the coming time. Viettel's 5G Private network system (5G Private) serves production automation and IoT applications in factories and enterprises. Viettel aims to develop data centers (DC) with a total capacity of 240 MW, about 1.5 times the capacity of all DCs in Vietnam today. The first model is Viettel Hoa Lac Data Center - Vietnam's first green data center with a capacity twice the average, using 30% renewable energy, and a total electrical capacity of 30 MW. In the next 10 years, Vietnam will welcome the fourth wave of FDI, with the main growth drivers coming from industrial production and export. Logistics is expected to become a key and rapidly growing industry. However, Vietnam's logistics industry still has many limitations such as: logistics costs account for over 20% of GDP, the process of sorting and selecting goods is still manual and semi-automatic, the automation application rate is only 10%. Viettel's chain of logistics automation solutions aims to solve this problem.
