Province requests school closure to avoid storm Bualoi, one school still opens to welcome students

(Dan Tri) - Although the People's Committee of Quang Tri province and the Department of Education and Training have requested educational institutions to temporarily close to avoid the storm, a local school is still open to welcome students.

Implementing the direction of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province on the implementation of response work for storm Bualoi (storm No. 10), the Department of Education and Training of this province has issued a document requesting schools and educational institutions in the area to let students take a day off on September 29.

However, on the morning of September 29, Trung Vuong Inter-level School, in Nam Dong Ha Ward, Quang Tri Province, still opened its doors to welcome students. Upon receiving the information, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri Province directly discussed with the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Principal of the school to make corrections.

According to the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province, the school's failure to comply with the direction of the Provincial People's Committee and the Department sets a bad precedent, posing many potential risks because although the weather conditions in Nam Dong Ha ward are favorable, teachers and students come from many different localities.

Explaining the announcement for students to go to school, Mr. Bui Manh Dung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Trung Vuong Inter-level School, said that on the evening of September 28, the school's leaders received many text messages and calls from parents, wishing for their children to go to school on the morning of September 29.

In addition, the leaders of Trung Vuong Inter-level School realized that the storm had passed and the area was not much affected, so they decided to reopen.

“Seeing the great demand from parents, the school let the children go to school this morning. After the Department of Education and Training directed, we let the students go home immediately, did not organize teaching but only kept the students, so that the parents could go to work with peace of mind,” said Mr. Dung.
