According to the plan of the Provincial People's Committee, the tourism development orientation will be based on the value of local agricultural specialties, exploiting the strengths of cultural traditions, history, agricultural economy and marine economy to create unique and characteristic tourism products to attract domestic and foreign tourists. In addition, Vinh Long strengthens links and cooperation in tourism development with localities across the country, especially the tourism cooperation program between Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta; deploy the Project on community tourism development in Vietnam in the province according to Decision No. 3222/QD-BVHTTDL dated October 30, 2024 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Along with development cooperation, Vinh Long province will promote priority projects calling for tourism investment in the area that have been granted a memorandum of understanding by the Provincial People's Committee. Striving to 2030, Vinh Long province will attract investment to develop a number of key projects, such as: Cai Ga Islet Resort (old Ben Tre ); Cultural Tourism Village Coordination Center - Rest Stop (K26, old Ben Tre); Khmer Cultural - Tourism Village project and Ao Ba Om Cultural - Tourism Resort, etc.

Mr. Duong Hoang Sum, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province, said that experts assess that the province has many potential resources and strengths for tourism development. The province has a coastline of more than 130 km, many beautiful natural landscapes, mangrove forests, many sandbanks and islands located between the Tien and Hau rivers... Along with that, Vinh Long also has many historical relics, ancient architecture, cultural heritages, pagodas, river landscapes, and wind power projects extending to the sea, adding to the beautiful landscape, attracting tourists.

With that potential, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue the Tourism Development Strategy for the period 2025 - 2030; complete plans and solutions to develop key tourism such as: detailed planning; issue incentive policies to attract investment; make appropriate investments in infrastructure and technical facilities; strengthen links with provinces, cities, and travel companies; promote tourism,...

In the first 8 months of 2025, the total number of visitors to tourist attractions and scenic spots in the province reached about 857,150, an increase of 4.4% over the same period in 2024; of which the number of international visitors reached about 120,000, an increase of 97.2%. Total revenue from service activities and tourists is estimated at over 5,824 million VND, an increase of 37.32% and reaching more than 75% of the 2025 plan. During the National Day holiday of September 2 alone (from August 30 to September 2), Vinh Long welcomed more than 176,400 tourists. Total tourism revenue reached over 173 billion VND, an increase of nearly 20% over the same period; average room occupancy rate at accommodation establishments reached 70-75%.
