In addition to the valuable gold medals, we also won 15 silver medals and 28 bronze medals. The second place was the host team of Indonesia.

According to the President of the Vietnam Judo Federation, Nguyen Manh Hung, overall, athletes from countries in the region have made a lot of progress, and they have also prepared very carefully for this tournament. Some countries have naturalized athletes.

Linh’s last chance was the bronze medal match because according to the rules, the athlete who won a medal in the qualifying round would get a ticket to the Olympics. Responding to the anticipation and excitement of the home audience, the “mother of two” burst into joy when she defeated the Finnish boxer 4-1 in the play-off match that just ended.

In this match, Ha Thi Linh entered the game very well, using excellent 1-2 combos, attacking quickly and defending firmly.

After 2 rounds, Linh still had the upper hand. In the decisive round, the female Tay ethnic boxer from the mountainous region of Lao Cai (playing for Hanoi ) fought firmly, making all efforts of her younger and stronger opponent hopeless. Ha Thi Linh won! The Vietnam Boxing Federation awarded Ha Thi Linh 50 million VND and 700 USD as a separate bonus.

She is the second Vietnamese boxer after Vo Thi Kim Anh to have a ticket to the Paris Olympics, and is also the 11th Vietnamese athlete to participate in the Olympics.
