Case of 40 students suspected of poisoning: Requesting opinion to continue suspending the vice principal

On October 21, the People's Committee of Kim Ngan Commune ( Quang Tri ) said it was seeking the opinion of the Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee to consider continuing to suspend Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue, Vice Principal of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, who is in charge of the boarding kitchen, related to the case of 40 students hospitalized with suspected food poisoning.

According to the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune, the reason for the proposal to extend the suspension period is because many parents have not agreed to let Ms. Hue return to work while the case is still under investigation and there is no official conclusion from the authorities.

Previously, the school coordinated with the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune to hold a meeting with the parents of 75 boarding students to discuss the reorganization of the kitchen. At the meeting, many parents requested the authorities to continue to suspend Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue until the investigation results were clear. Regarding this issue, the school leaders said that they would base on the minutes of the meeting with the parents to prepare a document to send to the People's Committee of the commune for consideration and handling according to their authority.

Previously, as Thanh Nien reported, on the morning of September 26, after breakfast at school, 40 students showed signs of nausea and stomachache and were taken to the emergency room. The incident caused a stir when a clip appeared that was said to have recorded Ms. Hue preventing the poisoned students from going to the emergency room.
