As reported by SGGP, at around 11:45 on August 22, a serious fire broke out in the Thanh Tung market area, originating from Mr. NVP's kiosk. The fire quickly spread. The commune government mobilized all forces to coordinate with the district and provincial police to control the fire at around 1:20 p.m. the same day.

According to local residents, the fire originated from a jealous conflict. Mr. NVP is said to have used a knife to slash his wife. When people intervened and took Mr. P.'s wife to the emergency room, he went into the kiosk, closed the door, opened a large gas cylinder valve and set fire. The fire broke out violently, quickly engulfing the market area in flames. Mr. P. then ran outside in a state of smoke inhalation and unconsciousness. Both husband and wife are currently being treated at Ca Mau General Hospital, their health has stabilized.

The cause of the incident is being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
