Positioning OCOP An Giang products

In recent years, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program in An Giang has achieved many positive results, contributing to promoting rural economic development. Recently, through the OCOP connection forum in the Mekong Delta region in 2025, the province continues to create new momentum for products "born from the village".

OCOP products are increasingly reaching further

With a natural area of nearly 10,000km2 , of which agricultural land accounts for 87.7%, An Giang has a solid foundation for developing large-scale commodity agriculture, and at the same time, it is a favorable condition for the OCOP program to develop effectively. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc said: "The OCOP program has helped many products crystallized from the culture and passion of An Giang people reach out to domestic and international markets, contributing to job creation, increasing income and preserving traditional values. The province implements the OCOP program in the direction of promoting internal resources and increasing the value of rural products".

From 2018 to now, An Giang has recognized 582 OCOP products of 325 entities, including 14 5-star products, 1 potential 5-star product, 52 4-star products and 515 3-star products. Many products are available at major supermarket systems such as Co.opmart, Big C, Lotte, WinMart, Bach Hoa Xanh and e-commerce platforms such as Vo So, Lazada, Shopee, Sendo... The province has also established many points to introduce and promote OCOP products.

At the 2025 Mekong Delta OCOP Connection Forum, Mr. Huynh Vu Luan - representative of Khai Hoan Trading Joint Stock Company introduced the traditional fish sauce product that has been on the market for more than 40 years. Mr. Luan said: "Khai Hoan fish sauce is a 5-star OCOP product, currently reaching an output of nearly 10 million liters per year, distributed in many markets inside and outside the province, including the US, Korea, and Japan. At the forum, the company wants to connect with partners in the Mekong Delta region to better reach customers in An Giang province and neighboring localities."

Expanding links, aiming at international markets

At the OCOP product connection conference within the framework of the forum, Mr. Luu Duc Thanh - a member of the Central OCOP Council's advisory group highly appreciated the quality of OCOP products in the Mekong Delta region in general and An Giang in particular. However, Mr. Thanh also pointed out some limitations: "Many entities have not really focused on brand building, and are still weak in product positioning and identification. Connection is important, but it must go hand in hand with a brand development strategy, proper and sustainable use of the brand." Mr. Thanh said that to improve the level of OCOP products, entities need to ensure consistent quality, improve customer care services, logistics, and transparent product information... to create trust with the market and partners.

Speaking at the Mekong Delta OCOP Connection Forum in 2025, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam said that the period of 2026 - 2030 will be a new development period, requiring strong innovation in digital transformation, science, technology and international economic integration. Therefore, the OCOP program needs to be widely implemented, associated with new rural construction, environmental protection, green growth and sustainable development. "An Giang as well as provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta need to further expand the space for connection and trade links with regions and localities across the country. In particular, it is necessary to target international markets to promote cultural values, agricultural and rural tourism with regions and areas as well as increase access to international partners to position local OCOP products in the market," Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam emphasized.
