An Chau commune develops mass sports movement

With the attention of all levels and sectors, the mass physical training and sports movement in An Chau commune is growing strongly in both quantity and quality, with many types attracting a large number of people to participate in training.

In addition to the invested facilities, An Chau commune actively mobilizes social resources to build playgrounds, equip training equipment, establish clubs, training sites and organize grassroots sports tournaments, meeting the health training needs of the people. Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, residing in Hoa Long I hamlet, said: "The commune pays attention to investing in facilities, so physical exercise and sports are more convenient. After work and on weekend mornings, my friends and I often play pickleball near home. Since playing sports, I feel more excited and maintain stable health to work."

Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of An Chau Commune, Huynh Thi Thanh Tuyen, said: "In order for the sports movement to spread strongly among the people, the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune focus on promoting the propaganda of the benefits and significance of regular sports practice. At the same time, the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement of all people uniting to build a cultural life, building new rural areas, with many rich and effective forms of activities. Up to now, badminton, football, volleyball, chess, gymnastics, martial arts clubs... have all maintained effective activities, attracting a large number of people to participate in training."

Sports activities in the commune are always maintained, strengthened and widely developed to all subjects, associated with the implementation of political tasks in each locality and unit. Depending on preferences and family conditions, each person chooses a suitable sport to practice, relieve stress and fatigue after work. Ms. Tran Thi Mai, residing in Dong Binh Trach hamlet, shared: "Regular exercise is a very necessary way to improve health, especially for the elderly like me. I have a habit of doing physical exercises in the morning and walking around the streets in the residential area near my house."

Every year, grassroots sports tournaments organized by the commune attract a large number of people to participate, especially on holidays and Tet. The competitions not only help people in hamlets and sectors in the commune exchange and learn from each other, but also create a joyful and exciting atmosphere in the community. From the tournaments, the commune also selects talented athletes to participate in friendly competitions with other localities and participate in provincial sports tournaments.

As a commune with a large Khmer population, on the occasion of Sene Dolta and Chol Chnam Thmay festivals, An Chau often organizes many sports competitions with traditional subjects, creating a joyful atmosphere, competing in labor and production. Mr. Thach Tung, residing in Hoa Tan hamlet, said that for more than 3 years he has participated in the local football club activities in the afternoons to improve his health. When the sports festivals and tournaments are near, club members actively practice to achieve good results. "We are very happy that the local government cares and creates favorable conditions for people to participate in sports activities, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the Khmer people," said Mr. Tung.

According to Ms. Huynh Thi Thanh Tuyen, in the coming time, An Chau commune will continue to promote propaganda and develop the sports movement with many diverse and rich forms of training to serve the health training needs of the people. At the same time, continue to carry out socialization work well, mobilizing all resources in society to participate in sports activities. Along with that, the commune will consolidate, maintain and improve the quality of activities of sports clubs and groups; regularly coordinate with sectors and organizations to organize many sports tournaments and sports festivals to create useful playgrounds for people, contributing to the development of the commune's sports movement.
