The series of accidents involving 3 passenger vans on the La Son - Tuy Loan highway (Hoa Bac commune section, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city) on the afternoon of May 30, authorities determined that the 50-seat passenger van overtook a 16-seat van on the La Son - Tuy Loan highway and collided with a car traveling in the opposite direction, then collided with the 16-seat van, causing it to flip over. The series of accidents involving 3 passenger vans resulted in the death of 1 passenger and serious injuries to 4 others.

On the evening of May 30, Dr. Le Duc Nhan, Director of Da Nang Hospital, said that on the same afternoon, the hospital received 13 victims of a serious accident that occurred on the La Son - Tuy Loan highway.

According to Dr. Nhan, the emergency victims at the hospital all suffered multiple injuries, including one seriously injured patient.

"13 victims were taken to the hospital for screening. One of them is in serious condition and is being treated in the intensive care unit, two were taken to the operating room to have their wounds stitched, and the rest had skin abrasions," Dr. Nhan informed.

At 5:00 p.m. on May 30, the Fire Police and Rescue Force, Da Nang City Police were still trying to clear the scene of the accident on the highway.

Taken to the Emergency Department of Da Nang Hospital, Mr. NTG (28 years old, residing in Da Nang City) was still in shock after the unexpected accident that caused casualties. Mr. G. said that all the victims in the 16-seat vehicle were his colleagues from the same company.

The injured victims of the accident were given emergency treatment at Da Nang Hospital.

According to Mr. G, on the morning of May 30, he and 15 people in the company rented a car to go to Thua Thien - Hue province to attend a wedding and congratulate a colleague's happiness. After attending the party, at noon the whole group got on a 16-seat car to return to Da Nang city.

"After more than an hour of driving, we reached Da Nang. While I was dozing off, I suddenly heard a loud bang... the car swayed and flipped over. At that moment, everyone stuck in the car screamed and tried to break the door to get out," Mr. G. recalled.

This afternoon, May 30, Mr. Le Trung Chinh (second from right), Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, Head of the Traffic Safety Committee of Da Nang City visited the injured victims in the traffic accident.

According to Mr. G., when everyone had helped each other get out of the car, Ms. DPT was still lying motionless in the car. Ms. T.'s colleagues tried to pull her out, but they called her over and over again but did not see her move.

"Ms. T. was sitting in the second row of seats. When her colleagues tried to escape but Ms. T. did not move, I knew something bad had happened," Mr. G choked.

Injured in the head and left hand, Ms. D.TTB (27 years old, living in Da Nang) was monitored by doctors at the Emergency Department, Da Nang Hospital. Ms. B. said that when people rescued her from the 16-seat passenger bus, she was dizzy and fainted, so she did not know that her female colleague had been lying forever on the La Son - Tuy Loan highway.

This afternoon, May 30, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, Head of the Traffic Safety Committee of Da Nang City, and a working delegation went to Da Nang Hospital to visit the injured victims of the series of traffic accidents between two passenger buses on Ho Chi Minh Road, La Son - Tuy Loan section.

As Thanh Nien reported, in the early afternoon of May 30, driver Nguyen Van Tuan (43 years old, residing in Lam Dong province) drove a sleeper bus with license plate 73F-000.63 carrying 42 people on the La Son - Tuy Loan route in the direction of Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang. When reaching Km 61+400 (in Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city), driver Tuan drove the car to pass a 16-seat car with license plate 43B - 043.94 driven by driver Ho Phuoc Tu (40 years old, Cam Le district, Da Nang city) (with 15 people on the car) traveling in the same direction ahead.

When the sleeper bus overtook, it collided with a truck with license plate 85H - 009.64 driven by Nguyen Xuan Ke (43 years old, resident of Ninh Thuan province) going in the opposite direction. Then, the car driven by driver Tuan collided with a 16-seat car that was carrying a group of people from a wedding, causing the car to flip over, leading to the accident. As a result, Ms. DPT (25 years old, resident of Binh Dinh province) died on the spot and many people were injured. Currently, the accident on the La Son - Tuy Loan highway is being investigated by the authorities.
