In 2002, while digging the foundation for a fence, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phuc's family in Tlan village (Cu Pong commune) discovered a tank bag containing bones and many relics, including: a belt with a star printed on it, a parachute cord, and a military backpack. Mr. Phuc's family wrapped the tank bag and buried it at Kdoh village cemetery (Cu Pong commune).

In 2013, Mr. Phuc's family asked some people living in the commune to rebury the grave. During the reburial process, according to custom, people only took a part of the remains, put a few in a ceramic coffin for burial, and threw away the relics without burying them with the remains.

Based on information provided by local people, Team K51, Provincial Military Command met with witnesses to verify and clarify. Team K51 also approached some veterans who had fought in the area.

After verifying and finding the information provided correct, Team K51 and the local authorities of the commune exhumed the remains and brought them to the Buon Ho Ward Martyrs Cemetery . Due to the lack of related documents and artifacts, the identities of the martyrs collected this time have not yet been determined.

Martyrs' remains
Remains and relics of martyrs were found during the excavation process.

It is known that from 2016 to now, Cu Pong commune has coordinated to search, collect and bury 4 martyrs' remains. Of which, 2 unidentified remains were buried at Buon Ho Ward Martyrs' Cemetery; 1 remains were buried in Tuyen Quang province; 1 remains were buried in Gia Lai province according to the family's wishes.

Searching, gathering and burying martyrs' remains is a sacred act, demonstrating the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking", showing gratitude for the great contributions of heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
