A 35-hectare complex of trees, lakes and sports areas is being planned on public land in Dong Anh commune, Hanoi, aiming to become a "green core" promoting sustainable development for the entire region. The commune's area has now expanded 7 times compared to before, creating conditions for synchronous planning. Keeping the old boundaries, the project will be divided into 4 localities for joint management.
After the merger, there are communes and wards with an area of thousands of square kilometers, with a population of up to 250,000 people, equivalent to half of the previous province.
Planning is always likened to a magnet, so after July 1, many localities determined that planning is always one step ahead, thereby proactively attracting investors to their side.
Expanded administrative space and population growth are necessary conditions to promote local development in a regional direction, overcoming fragmentation and small-scale situations.
Not only communes and wards, provinces and cities now also have many advantages in planning. Currently, 62% of provinces and cities are bordered by the sea - a sharp increase compared to 44% before, opening up opportunities for marine economic development, regional connectivity, and resource optimization. Transparent and feasible planning is the foundation for attracting investment, effectively allocating resources, promoting infrastructure and sustainable development.
