Verify Mercedes car has lights like emergency lights

(NLDO) - The online community shared a clip of a white-plate Mercedes car with red and green lights flashing continuously.

On March 5, authorities in District 3 (HCMC) are verifying a white-plate car with lights that resembled an emergency vehicle running on the road.

That same morning, social media went viral with a clip of a white-plate Mercedes car with red and green lights flashing continuously on Ly Chinh Thang Street, Vo Thi Sau Ward, District 3.

The incident was filmed by a resident and posted on social media.

Traffic police in District 3 (Ho Chi Minh City Police) said they are verifying and inviting the driver to come in for questioning.

According to the Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order, types of vehicles that are installed and use priority vehicle signaling devices include: fire trucks on duty ; military and police vehicles on emergency duty; ambulances on emergency duty; dyke protection vehicles; vehicles on duty to deal with natural disasters, epidemics or vehicles on duty in emergency situations as prescribed by law.

In case the vehicle does not belong to the above mentioned types but arbitrarily installs and uses the signal device of a priority vehicle, the driver will be fined from 4-6 million VND according to Decree 168.
