Verifying information about a young man in Dak Nong suspected of being kidnapped

On April 13, the leader of the People's Committee of Truong Xuan commune said that he had assigned the commune police to verify and investigate information about a young man being kidnapped, drugged and having his property extorted.

Earlier that morning, a warning post appeared on a social networking forum with nearly 35,000 followers.

According to the article, about a month ago, Mr. YR (28 years old, resident of Truong Xuan commune) was walking on the street when he met a man around 40 years old. While talking with this man, Mr. YR became delirious, then unconscious.

According to social media posts, a few hours later, YR woke up to find himself locked in a room with several other people. In the following days, YR was beaten and denied food.

According to the warning, Mr. YR was forced to transfer all 60 million VND in his personal account. After that, the group asked Mr. YR to call his family and transfer another 50 million VND into his account to be released by the group of strangers.

Immediately after the article was posted, hundreds of people commented, expressing confusion about the incident in which a young man was suspected of being kidnapped and having his property extorted.

In particular, many people expressed concern when it was reported that, after nearly 10 days of returning home, Mr. YR was still confused due to being beaten and drugged too much.

The incident is being investigated by the authorities.
