The Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued an Official Dispatch on strengthening the implementation of tasks and solutions to promote rice production and export, stabilize the domestic market and support businesses to take advantage of FTAs.
In the dispatch, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requested to research and add rice products to the product research roadmap implemented in the first phase of the Ecosystem Project to support businesses in taking advantage of FTAs.
At the same time, promote negotiations with the EU and the UK to amend the list of fragrant rice varieties enjoying tariff quota commitments under the EVFTA and UKVFTA; as well as take advantage of the additional quota for rice products until 2030 according to the UK's commitment to Vietnam when joining the CPTPP.
The ecosystem of industries that helps businesses take advantage of incentives from FTAs has been creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to access the global market.
In recent times, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been working hard to coordinate with localities and industry associations to organize seminars and training sessions to promote and disseminate the FTA ecosystem model for key industries and strengths of Vietnam such as: textiles, footwear, seafood, cinnamon, coffee...
Up to now, most associations, businesses, industries and localities have highly appreciated this model. The ecosystem of industries that helps businesses take advantage of incentives from FTAs has brought about clear benefits.
