In order to support schools in effectively implementing epidemic prevention and control work, Cai Nuoc Regional Medical Center coordinates with the Health Station and the People's Committees of communes to monitor epidemic prevention and control activities at schools. From there, grasp the favorable and difficult situations and find solutions to support and effectively implement epidemic prevention and control work.

Dr. Le Van Hai, Deputy Director of Cai Nuoc Regional Medical Center, said: “We focus on checking environmental sanitation, disease prevention and control measures and establishing a Steering Committee for student health care in schools. Along with that, we guide schools to proactively prevent common diseases in schools such as hand, foot and mouth disease, dengue fever, and diseases transmitted through the respiratory and digestive tracts.”
In reality, the work of preventing and fighting epidemics in schools requires close coordination between the health sector, schools and parents. Therefore, the health sector continues to strengthen propaganda to raise awareness among parents in proactively preventing and fighting epidemics at home and monitoring children's health at home when children show signs of illness. At the same time, continue to guide school health workers and teachers on the signs of infectious diseases in children to promptly detect, isolate and prevent effectively from the first case.
Ms. Ly Thi Kieu Nhu, a teacher at Hoa Sen Kindergarten in Luong The Tran Commune, said: “Every morning, when parents bring their children to class, teachers observe their hands, feet, and check their temperature... to see if there are any signs or symptoms of the disease. If there are any, they will be isolated and immediately reported to medical staff and parents. In class, children are instructed to wash their hands regularly with soap before eating and after using the toilet. Every week, we clean utensils and toys to prevent and control epidemics.”
Right from the beginning of the school year, schools have coordinated to fully implement disease prevention and control work. Closely monitor children's health, promptly detect signs of illness, and notify medical facilities for coordination in handling. After the first weeks of the school year, the epidemic situation in schools is under good control.
Ms. Dinh Thi Phuong, Principal of Pink Lotus Kindergarten, Ly Van Lam Ward, said: “In addition to implementing epidemic prevention and control measures, the school has prepared enough medicine, isolation areas... to basically meet the initial handling when a case occurs. After that, we coordinate with the health sector to thoroughly handle the epidemic if it occurs. Teachers have created a Zalo group to send communication documents on epidemic prevention and control to parents. From there, parents coordinate with the school to best prevent and control the epidemic.”

Dr. Le Van Hai added: “Increase propaganda for teachers, parents and students to wash their hands regularly, clean children's utensils and toys, and closely monitor epidemics. With proactive measures, when an epidemic occurs in schools, we will handle it promptly, not letting the epidemic spread.”
Currently, the epidemic situation in the community is complicated, with hand, foot and mouth disease, dengue fever and measles on the rise. In particular, the number of dengue fever cases increased by more than 250% compared to the same period in 2024. The health sector continues to closely monitor and control epidemics in the community and support schools in synchronously implementing epidemic prevention and control solutions. In particular, promoting communication, mobilizing the participation of teachers, students and parents, in order to build safe schools to join hands to repel the epidemic.
