Right after the Tet holiday, relatives and neighbors rushed to help Mr. Chung Van Khen's family in Phieng Pen hamlet (Ly Bon commune, Bao Lam district) complete their house. Being a poor household with many economic difficulties, for many years his family had to live in a dilapidated house without the ability to repair it. The joy came when Mr. Khen's family received a financial support of 44 million VND to build a new house with an area of 80 square meters. Although there were many difficulties in terms of counterpart funding, with the help of the government, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations, Mr. Khen was determined to build a solid and spacious house to stabilize his life.

Not only Mr. Khen's family, in 2024, thousands of poor households in Bao Lam district will also receive financial support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. This year, the entire district was assigned to support the elimination of 1,276 temporary and dilapidated houses. With the determination to complete the target with the highest results, from the beginning of the year, the Party Committee and authorities from the district to the grassroots level have coordinated with the Fatherland Front and socio -political organizations to proactively and carefully review the response capacity and resources of each family to have a specific support plan. In addition, the Fatherland Front at all levels also promoted propaganda work, mobilized maximum resources from organizations and individuals, mobilized funds and working days to support households with difficulties in building houses.

Together with Bao Lam district, up to now, the localities in Cao Bang province have basically completed the assignment of targets to communes to quickly implement the project of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households. With the spirit of the more difficult the more determined, the entire political system has made efforts to gradually turn the program into a widespread movement among the people. Especially in remote villages and ethnic minority areas, this meaningful program has been unanimously supported by the people.

Regarding the results of the program to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, Mr. Ha Ngoc Giap - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, Chairman of the Cao Bang Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, said that in 2023, the whole province supported the construction of houses for 4,662 households with a total support budget of 174.2 billion VND. The success of the program has created a close connection between the Party Committee, the government, the political system and the people, contributing to arousing solidarity, sharing, mutual assistance in the community. In 2023, the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels received 25.5 billion VND. From this fund, the Fatherland Front at all levels supported the construction of 301 Great Unity houses, with an amount of over 18 billion VND.

This year, the Steering Committee for supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Cao Bang province assigned the target to localities to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses with a total of 7,121 houses. To achieve the set target, districts and cities are actively reviewing the number of households on the list of eligible households, grasping the number, and regularly urging to ensure the set progress. In addition, Party committees, authorities, and Fatherland Fronts at all levels continue to promote propaganda and mobilize individuals and businesses to actively support to have more sources of support for poor households and poor households with housing difficulties.

“Each poor household that builds a new house will receive 44 million VND in support. In addition, the Fatherland Front and organizations will mobilize family members and neighbors to help with labor and funds to buy construction materials. Each newly built house must ensure quality and long-term use with the 3 hard criteria (hard roof, hard floor, hard wall) to help people stabilize their lives, work with peace of mind, and gradually escape poverty sustainably,” said Mr. Ha Ngoc Giap.
