On July 18, Hanoi Medical University held the opening ceremony of the project "AI Opportunities for Healthcare Workers". Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Mai Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Training ( Ministry of Health ) - said that artificial intelligence (AI) plays an important role in implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo, towards "breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation".

AI is reshaping the future of the global healthcare industry with its ability to support diagnostic imaging, optimize treatment processes, and personalize patient care. In Vietnam, the Ministry of Health has identified AI as a key solution to build a smart healthcare management system, support diagnosis, treatment, develop disease warning software, and monitor health. The “AI Opportunity for Healthcare Workers” project is a strategic step to equip healthcare workers with the necessary skills to lead the digital transformation process.

Medical staff and officers from the units participated in the training course.

The goal is to train at least 15,000 Vietnamese medical staff in the 2025-2026 period, promoting the application of AI in medical examination and treatment, scientific research and medical administration.

The program consists of 5 main modules, instructed by Google's globally certified training experts, focusing on: Optimizing work performance with AI tools; designing effective commands to exploit AI, applying AI responsibly and ethically, and capturing AI development trends in healthcare.

Students, from managers, administrative staff to doctors, pharmacists and lecturers, will be provided with basic knowledge and direct practice with experts. Training content is customized for each target group, ensuring high applicability in daily work.

The project not only focuses on individual skills but also aims to build a culture of innovation in the healthcare industry, promote sustainable digital transformation and improve the quality of healthcare. Healthcare workers will master how to apply AI to increase productivity, reduce errors and innovate workflows.

The project is also in line with the major orientations of the Party and the Government, especially Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and Resolution No. 71/NQ-CP on "Digital Universal Education".
