On September 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health held a conference to announce the results of implementing electronic medical records and standardizing the city's health sector's data warehouse. Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee attended the conference.
According to Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Nguyen Anh Dung, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, electronic medical records are currently applied in 153/164 hospitals in the city. This is one of the foundation bricks towards building big data that the health sector is coordinating with departments, branches, and sectors, especially with the City Digital Transformation Center.
At the conference, comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, praised the efforts of the entire Ho Chi Minh City health sector to overcome many challenges, achieving a rate of more than 93% of hospitals implementing electronic medical records and standardizing the health sector's shared data warehouse.

Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc commented that using a shared electronic medical record platform is considered a breakthrough solution, like a safety net for hospitals, helping to synchronize data, connect with the city's medical data warehouse, and form a tool for managing, monitoring and analyzing medical data.
This platform not only serves individual hospitals but also creates a comprehensive picture of the community health situation. From there, it helps to plan policies and forecast future health trends, gradually building Ho Chi Minh City into a specialized medical center, worthy of the region and Asia.
With the announcement of electronic medical records and integration of shared data warehouses, comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc assessed that the Ho Chi Minh City health sector is one of the leading local organizations in concretizing and implementing Resolution 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo on a number of breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care and improvement of people's health.

He requested the health sector to continue to urgently create conditions for the remaining hospitals to quickly deploy electronic medical records and participate in the common data warehouse.
Review the shortcomings and difficulties in the implementation process, to promptly make policy recommendations for smooth and effective operation.
Accurately report on the practical situation to have a policy to supplement human resources for the information technology force for hospitals, the cost of operating electronic medical records; Prevent and resolve the difference in technology infrastructure between hospitals.
In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City health sector needs to continue expanding electronic health record coverage for the elderly throughout the area, moving towards expanding to new groups such as children and women.
At the same time, promote the application of artificial intelligence and big data analysis in disease forecasting, scientific research and healthcare management. Gradually form a smart healthcare ecosystem to serve the goal of building a smart, modern and livable city.
Also at the conference, the directors of hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City signed a consensus on building and effectively exploiting the city's large data warehouse. This is an asset of the health sector that contributes to the common data warehouse, contributing to the city's economic and social development.
