40 football teams participate in the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament

On the afternoon of September 16, the press conference and draw for the "Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament 2025" took place at the Majestic Hotel, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

The 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is jointly organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper , the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor , and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). This is the third consecutive year that this meaningful tournament has taken place nationwide.

In 2024, the Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament made a strong impression when it received the attention of leaders of the Party, State, and National Assembly , along with the support of localities, departments, unions, and businesses.

The tournament attracted a large number of workers in many industries, whose professional quality was improved thanks to the methodical investment. In particular, the tournament also spread humanistic values ​​when it raised 2.1 billion VND to support workers affected by storm No. 3, gave 40 houses and supported 581 difficult cases.

Continuing that success, in 2025, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Football Federation and Tuoi Tre Newspaper will continue to coordinate to organize the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament.

Entering its third year of organization, the tournament has affirmed its position as an annual, prestigious playground for workers, civil servants and laborers across the country, contributing to promoting the movement of physical exercise and sports, improving the cultural and spiritual life of workers, civil servants and laborers in particular and the whole society in general.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Tran Xuan Toan - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper , shared: "The biggest goal of the organizing committee when implementing the Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is to create a spiritual playground for workers. A place for workers to exercise, create cohesion between cadres, civil servants, laborers, workers and especially civil servants participating after work hours.

After 2 years of implementation, the tournament has made an important contribution to the development of the community sports movement. Therefore, the tournament has received enthusiastic support from the leaders of provincial trade unions, businesses and especially the direct participants of the tournament - workers and laborers nationwide.

This year's tournament takes place in a very special context, which is that our country has just reorganized its administrative units into a two-level model. Our whole country now has only 34 provinces and cities left. We are truly touched that the trade union organizations, despite being very busy, still spend time and effort to organize football teams to participate in this year's tournament. This is extremely meaningful in taking care of the material and spiritual life of workers, towards the common development of the country."

Live broadcast of all matches

The 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is organized in the format of 7-a-side football, according to the competition rules issued by the Vietnam Football Federation. The tournament is implemented according to the Labor Federation system on a national scale, gathering nearly 40 participating football teams - representing the Trade Unions of provinces/cities, Industry Trade Unions and enterprises across the country.

The 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament will go through two stages: the Qualifying Round held from September to October 2025 in the Northern region (Hanoi) and the Southern region (Ho Chi Minh City). The 16 best teams in the Qualifying Round will qualify for the National Finals, taking place at the end of October in Ho Chi Minh City.

The total prize of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is up to 900 million VND. Of which, the national final champion team will receive 200 million VND (an increase of 50 million VND compared to the 2024 season).

A notable highlight is that all matches of the tournament are livestreamed on social media platforms of the Tuoi Tre ecosystem, the tournament fanpage and the Vietnam Trade Union fanpage. This helps fans who cannot go to the stadium to cheer for the tournament and cheer for the players from afar.

Not stopping there, the Organizing Committee is also honored to receive the support of FPT Play and VTVcab. FPT Play will broadcast the two regional qualifying finals and all 32 matches of the finals. VTVcab will broadcast all matches throughout the season, helping the tournament reach a wide audience.
