The decision clearly states that the Vietnam Sports Delegation to attend the 3rd Asian Youth Games (AYG) from October 16 to November 1, 2025 in Bahrain will consist of 75 members, led by Mr. Dao Duc Kien, Deputy Head of the Information and Communications Department, Vietnam Sports Administration.
49 young Vietnamese athletes will participate in the 3rd Asian Youth Games (AYG).
The Vietnamese Sports Delegation attending the 3rd Asian Youth Games will compete in Badminton, Jujitsu, Boxing, Judo, Wrestling, Athletics, Golf, Weightlifting, Taekwondo, Cycling, and Muay.
The list of sports at the AYG 2025 was also announced, including 24 disciplines. A total of 1,677 medals will be awarded, with 505 gold, 503 silver and 669 bronze. The medals will feature the official emblem of the Games in the center, surrounded by stylized motifs representing the word "Bahrain".
Previously, according to the announcement of the Organizing Committee, there will be more than 4,000 athletes participating in the Vietnamese Sports Delegation to attend the 3rd Asian Youth Games. This is a record number for the most important youth sports event in Asia. The Games lasts 09 days (from October 22 to 31), gathering young talents of the continent and acting as a testing ground for future international competitions.
In a statement, Mr. Yusuf Duaij, head of the Executive Committee, expressed his pride that: "This number reflects the efforts of the Organizing Committee, with a total of more than 5,000 participants, including officials, administrators, technical staff, media personnel and medical teams, representing 45 National Olympic Committees, the Olympic Council of Asia and many other Asian sports federations."
Four main centres have been established to issue entry passes to the Games: The Art Hotel & Resort, Exhibition World Bahrain, Gulf Hotel and Isa Sports City.
Preparations for the competition are underway, with the aim of introducing innovation in many aspects. For the first time in the history of the Asian Youth Games, the Opening Ceremony will be held indoors at the Bahrain Exhibition Centre. Some of the competitions will start before the official opening ceremony: men's futsal, handball and volleyball on 19 October, women's futsal, kabaddi, teqball and beach volleyball on 21 October.
On the sporting front, the event is of great significance, as the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain will serve as a qualifying event for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
