60 teams compete in an exciting competition in region 3, national student basketball tournament

Following the success of the first season (2022), the National Student Basketball Tournament (NUC) has returned in 2023 and received the attention and support of universities, colleges and academies across the country. With the participation of nearly 140 teams and more than 1,600 athletes competing for the highest position (an increase of more than 35% in the number of participating teams compared to the previous season), NUC 2023 continues to be the student sports tournament with the most participating teams nationwide to date. This is a positive sign, demonstrating the development of the student sports movement, as well as the love of basketball being spread.

NUC is considered a healthy playground for students, the organization is attractive and stirs up a unique cheering movement from many universities. The tournament receives comprehensive professional support, especially in refereeing from the Vietnam Basketball Federation, Ho Chi Minh City Basketball Federation and Hanoi Basketball Federation.

Ton Duc Thang University women's team is the defending champion of the 2022 national finals.

Region 3 consists of 60 teams (43 men's teams and 17 women's teams) who will compete to find the 5 best representatives (including 3 men's teams and 2 women's teams) to compete in the national final round taking place in Hanoi this coming December. The group stage matches of Region 3 will take place from October 16 to October 28. Immediately after that, the round of 16, quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals will take place continuously from November 1 to 12. The competition venues of Region 3 include Ton Duc Thang University Gymnasium, SSA Sports Center and Canada International School Gymnasium.

Host Ton Duc Thang University took the field on the first day of competition in region 3.

Regional Finals:

Region 1: 49 men's teams, 20 women's teams, including 810 athletes. Expected to take place from October 19 to November 19, 2023 in Hanoi

Area 2: 7 men's teams, 2 women's teams registered, including 106 athletes. Expected to take place from October 24 to October 29 in Da Nang City

Region 3: 43 men's teams, 17 women's teams, including 712 athletes. Expected to take place from October 16 to November 12 in Ho Chi Minh City

National Finals:

Expected to take place from December 2 to December 10 in Hanoi, gathering 8 men's teams and 6 women's teams.
