70 investors learn about the connection between Lien Chieu port and Da Nang FTZ

DNVN - On June 22, right after the announcement ceremony of Decision 1142/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister establishing the Da Nang Free Trade Zone (FTZ), 70 investors went on a field trip to learn about the connection between Lien Chieu port and the Da Nang FTZ.

Immediately after the announcement ceremony of Decision 1142/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on the establishment of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone (FTZ), the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects (PIIP) brought 70 domestic and foreign enterprises interested in investing in the field of manufacturing and logistics supply chain to visit the Lien Chieu port construction project.

Deputy Director of PIIP Nguyen Duc Nam introduced to interested investors the connectivity between Lien Chieu port and functional subdivisions of Da Nang FTZ.

According to PIIP Deputy Director Nguyen Duc Nam, up to now, the Lien Chieu Port shared infrastructure construction project has completed 87.6% of the volume value; expected to be completed by the end of November 2025. The coastal road project connecting Lien Chieu Port has completed 65% of the volume value; expected to be completed in February 2026.

In particular, to meet the requirements of production and logistics supply chain, PIIP is focusing on implementing 5 key routes in the system of arterial traffic routes connecting Lien Chieu port with functional subdivisions of Da Nang FTZ and the national traffic network.

Including: Upgrading and expanding the Nam Hai Van bypass (section from Hoa Lien intersection to the coastal road intersection connecting Lien Chieu port) 5.36km long, 6 lanes; the Cu De riverside road connecting Lien Chieu port to the intersection to the North-South expressway, nearly 8km long, 4 lanes;

The road connecting Lien Chieu port to the North-South expressway, Da Nang city, is nearly 9km long, with 6 lanes; the road connecting the Western beltway to La Son - Tuy Loan expressway (behind Da Nang High-Tech Park) is nearly 6km long, with 4 lanes; the Western beltway 2 (from Road No. 8, Hoa Khanh Industrial Park to National Highway 14B) is more than 11km long, with 4 lanes.

Da Nang City leaders awarded Memorandum of Understanding to 8 strategic investors in Da Nang FTZ.

Previously, at the announcement ceremony of Decision 1142/QD-TTg on the morning of June 22, the People's Committee of Da Nang City presented the Memorandum of Understanding on investment in Da Nang FTZ to 8 strategic investors; at the same time, presented the Notice of permission to study project investment to 4 interested investors.

According to Decision 1142/QD-TTg, the long-term goal is to build Da Nang FTZ into an important link in the global supply chain network and the Asia- Pacific region; a production center, an international goods transit hub connected with Lien Chieu port, Da Nang international airport and the East-West Economic Corridor.

Developing Danang FTZ in association with the International Financial Center in Danang City, forming a modern, smart, highly competitive economic ecosystem, creating great spillover effects, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position in the region and internationally in the context of globalization; actively contributing to shifting the economic structure of the new Danang City after merging with Quang Nam province towards sustainability and deep integration.

According to the representative of the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang, to successfully implement the Da Nang FTZ, it is necessary to have the support and cooperation of the business community and domestic and foreign investors. Thereby, making the Da Nang FTZ truly become a modern, smart, highly competitive economic ecosystem, creating a spillover effect, contributing to enhancing the position of Vietnam in the region and internationally.
