Amorim calculates tactics when facing Liverpool.

The 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield on October 19 was the first time in nearly 10 years that MU left their rival's field with three points, and also marked a streak of 2 consecutive wins in the Premier League for the first time since May 2024.

Amorim had faced a wave of criticism for his side's poor start, losing three Premier League games and being eliminated from the League Cup by fourth-tier Grimsby Town. However, the victory at Anfield gave the Red Devils renewed confidence.

Newcomer Senne Lammens, who was brought into the first team at the right time when MU was on the rise, shared: "For me, the coach always keeps calm. He is under a lot of pressure, everyone can see that. But instead of putting it on the players, he takes it all on himself. That is what great coaches always do."

The 23-year-old goalkeeper revealed how Amorim helps the team overcome tense moments: "He always tries to keep a positive atmosphere in the dressing room. When the pressure comes, he takes it so we can focus on the game. I try to ignore all the noise outside, and Amorim helps me do that."

Lammens insists Amorim have clear tactics against Liverpool.

Coach Arne Slot complained after the match about MU's long balls, which had annoyed him in the 2-2 draw in January 2025. But Amorim surprised their opponents by leaving Benjamin Sesko on the bench, giving Matheus Cunha the chance to start.

The change worked immediately. After just two minutes, Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring for MU after a combination from a second ball situation. Lammens revealed this was a tactical intention: "We knew they were pressing man-on-man, so building the ball from home at Anfield was extremely difficult. My defenders and I decided to play more directly, looking for long balls, fighting for second balls. Even though we didn't have a real striker, we did quite well and scored from that situation."

According to Lammens, this tactic was carefully planned by Amorim and the coaching staff: "The coach gave a lot of information, but it was important for us to be realistic. When the way of playing was effective, he always emphasized to continue with it and today, that brought results."

"Two wins in a row is something we've been waiting for a long time," said Lammens. "The coach always talks about momentum. We've lost it many times, but now it can be a new start. With Old Trafford behind us, we have to keep winning," Lammens concluded.

After a turbulent start, MU is gradually regaining the image of a united team with a coach who knows how to take the blows for his players, and a young goalkeeper who is becoming a new symbol of optimism at Old Trafford.
