VNPT "joins hands" with Finnish partners to develop digital infrastructure and build a safe digital environment

On October 21, in Finland, under the witness of General Secretary To Lam and Mr. Matias Marttinen - Minister of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group ( VNPT ) awarded the contract to develop VNPT's wireless access network in Hanoi, border provinces and the South for the period 2025 - 2026 to Nokia Group and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation with Finnish security group F-Secure in the field of cyber security and protecting people from cyber attacks and online fraud.

Accordingly, with the signed contract for developing a wireless access network, VNPT and Nokia will jointly implement the project in the 2025-2026 period, focusing on improving the quality of mobile coverage, especially in border areas and key socio-economic centers.

At the same time, VNPT continues to focus on improving the quality of telecommunications and digital services, better meeting the information and connection needs of people, authorities and businesses.

This signing event continues to affirm VNPT as Nokia's strategic partner in Vietnam, together aiming at the goal of developing green and modern telecommunications infrastructure, meeting the 5G and 6G era in the future.

On the same day, VNPT and F-Secure Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation to protect people from cyber attacks and online fraud, and expand cooperation to the ASEAN regional market.

According to the agreement, both sides will jointly carry out many activities in the field of technology and training, including: Sharing intelligence information on cyber threats; organizing training programs and practical training; improving cybersecurity capacity for VNPT's technical team. VNPT and F-Secure will also research and test cybersecurity solutions applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), opening up opportunities for commercialization and providing services to the international market.

Also on October 21, in Vietnam, VNPT and F-Secure announced the provision of VNPT S-Defender service - a security and anti-online fraud solution integrated with F-Secure's advanced technology. The service helps detect and prevent online fraud, malware, and protect people's digital identities.

The two sides will also continue to research and develop more advanced protection features for individual users, households and small businesses; while ensuring the safety of essential digital services such as e-banking, e-commerce and e-government.

A representative of VNPT said that reaching two important agreements with Nokia and F-Secure not only helps the unit consolidate its position as a leading group in digital infrastructure and security but also actively contributes to the national digital transformation strategy, towards the goal of building Vietnam into a safe, prosperous and sustainable digital nation./.
