With its unique advantages in agricultural products, processing industry and indigenous culture, Tuyen Quang is making efforts to promote trade, expand product consumption channels, and gradually affirm the position of local goods on the domestic trade map, aiming for export.

Promoting potential, creating a mark to promote trade in the highlands

Tuyen Quang has many potentials and advantages in developing agricultural products , processing industry, trade services and eco-tourism. The whole province currently has 12 products certified for geographical indications by the Department of Intellectual Property, over 450 products meeting OCOP standards of 3 stars or higher, of which 2 products have achieved OCOP 5 stars at the national level, which is the pride of Tuyen Quang people ”, said Mr. Loc Kim Lien, Deputy Director of Tuyen Quang Department of Industry and Trade.

According to the leader of the Department of Industry and Trade of Tuyen Quang, with these advantages, the locality also identified trade promotion as a "lever" to develop sustainable agricultural economy , processing industry and trade. In recent years, the Department of Industry and Trade has continuously innovated connection and promotion methods. From the program "One Commune One Product - OCOP", to fairs and weeks introducing regional products, the province has supported hundreds of businesses and cooperatives to bring products to supermarket systems, e-commerce platforms and export markets.

Not only that, Tuyen Quang's trade promotion is also linked to the strategy of developing the processing industry, forming a sustainable agricultural value chain. " We will continue to promote diversified and professional trade promotion, associated with digital transformation; attract investment in developing the processing industry, logistics infrastructure, and industrial clusters. At the same time, coordinate with central ministries and branches to build brands and enhance the value of products bearing the identity of Tuyen Quang ", Mr. Loc Kim Lien emphasized.

At the conference on trade promotion, trade connection, and support for the consumption of products and goods in Tuyen Quang province in 2025 recently organized by the Department of Industry and Trade, many opinions from ministries, central branches and enterprises highly appreciated the methodical and proactive approach of the locality. Mr. Hoang Minh Chien, Deputy Director of the Department of Trade Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade), said: "Tuyen Quang, after merging with Ha Giang, is entering a new stage of development with many outstanding potentials. With a large number of products, including ancient Shan Tuyet tea with 5 stars at the national level, it is a great resource to promote socio-economic development, attract investment, create jobs and increase income for people".

According to Mr. Hoang Minh Chien, the Trade Promotion Agency is committed to continuing to accompany Tuyen Quang in connecting the consumption of OCOP products, promoting them at domestic and foreign fairs, and supporting businesses in applying digital transformation, developing e-commerce, and expanding exports.

Clear effectiveness from affiliate models

In fact, many enterprises and cooperatives in Tuyen Quang have effectively utilized trade promotion programs to improve their products. Thanh Son Co., Ltd. and Tay Con Linh Cooperative are typical examples.

Ms. Pham Thi Minh Hai, Deputy Director of Thanh Son Company Limited, shared that the ancient Shan Tuyet tea tree is a treasure of Tuyen Quang people. Previously, the economic value of the tea tree was not commensurate with its potential. However, thanks to the support from the industrial promotion and trade promotion program, we have invested in a vacuum drying line, increasing productivity by 2.5 times, reducing costs by 15-20%, stabilizing quality and meeting export standards.

At the same time, Thanh Son is also a pioneer in researching and processing Shan Tuyet tea, developing a line of natural cosmetics from ancient tea essence. From a traditional tea, the company has created 24 beauty products, expanding into the e-commerce market, accounting for 75% of current revenue. “ Consumers now not only "drink tea to stay healthy" but also "use tea to be beautiful". Each product is a crystallization of knowledge and nature ”, Ms. Pham Thi Minh Hai added.

Not only creating economic value, Thanh Son's production model also contributes to sustainable poverty reduction for people in the highlands. Hundreds of Dao and H'mong households participate in planting, caring for and harvesting tea, with stable income all year round. " Our principle is not to force prices, not to buy cheaply, and to share profits fairly with people. Each product sold is a part of the value returned to the community ," Ms. Pham Thi Minh Hai affirmed.

Another model that was also mentioned was Truong Anh Company Limited (Lung Phin commune), which cooperated with people to raise bees for mint nectar. Ms. Nguyen Anh Van, Deputy Director of the company, shared that although beekeeping is hard work and depends on nature, it has become a way out of poverty for many households. On average, each household can raise 50-200 bee colonies, earning more than 200 million VND/year. More importantly, people have a job on the spot, do not have to go far to work for hire, protect the forest, and protect the homeland.

According to the representative of Truong Anh company, thanks to the trade promotion program and the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the company's mint honey products are available at major agents in Tuyen Quang, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; a part is exported to Hong Kong. " Thanks to strict quality control, no mixing, ensuring natural ripeness, Truong Anh honey has been trusted by consumers ", said Ms. Nguyen Anh Van.

Models like Thanh Son or Truong Anh show that trade promotion is not only an activity connecting supply and demand, but also a tool to spread sustainable values, bringing local products to larger markets.

Creating a foundation for Tuyen Quang brand to reach far

According to Mr. Hoang Minh Chien, for trade promotion activities to be truly effective, there needs to be close coordination between the central and local levels, between management agencies and enterprises. “ We hope that enterprises will promote their initiative and actively promote trade for their own products. With the dynamism of enterprises and the support of the State, the Tuyen Quang brand can absolutely reach further in the national commodity value chain ,” he emphasized.

Tuyen Quang is gradually affirming its position as a bright spot in the Northern midland and mountainous region in developing a commodity economy associated with sustainable trade promotion. Typical products such as ancient Shan Tuyet tea, Mint honey, or Ham Yen Sanh oranges, Dong Na Hang vermicelli... are not only local specialties but are becoming "brand ambassadors" of the province, contributing to promoting the image and culture of Tuyen Quang people to domestic and foreign friends.

With a long-term vision, the determination of the government, the industry and trade sector and the business community, Tuyen Quang is continuing to write a success story, the story of a land that knows how to turn potential into value, turn specialties into brands and turn trade promotion into a driving force for sustainable development.
