Do a good job of social security.
Social security is implemented fully and promptly.
In the first 9 months of 2025, all levels, sectors and localities in the province have proactively provided resources, fully and correctly paid social security and preferential policies to the right subjects. The whole province has paid monthly allowances to 22,914 meritorious people, with a total budget of 76.9 billion VND, and at the same time resolved 704 dossiers of allowance regimes for meritorious people and their relatives, with a total amount of 513.4 billion VND.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, the province presented 8,902 gifts to people with meritorious services, worth 3.5 billion VND. On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), the whole province presented more than 23,000 gifts, worth over 9 billion VND in total, expressing deep gratitude to those who contributed to the revolution.
Sustainable poverty reduction and temporary housing elimination exceed plan
Poverty reduction continues to receive attention, the poverty rate in the whole province has decreased to 10.89%. Support policies are increasingly focused on helping poor households improve their production capacity, create stable jobs and access basic social services. In particular, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has been vigorously implemented under the direction of the Government. By May 15, 2025, Son La province had completed the construction of 3,058 houses, exceeding the plan by 221 houses and reaching the finish line 169 days ahead of the deadline of October 31, 2025. This result demonstrates the determination and high sense of responsibility of the entire political system, along with the cooperation of the business community and the people.
People's employment and income continue to improve.
Consulting, job introduction and labor market information activities continue to be maintained effectively. By the end of September, Son La had 251 workers working abroad, reaching 125.5% of the yearly plan.
Domestically, 8,855 workers have been recruited to work at companies and enterprises - reaching 295% of the annual plan and 185.6% compared to the same period in 2024. In addition, career conversion and job creation support programs have helped nearly 20,000 workers increase their income and improve their lives.
It can be seen that the life of Son La people in the first 9 months of the year was stable, social security was guaranteed, targets on poverty reduction, employment, and support for people with meritorious services were all achieved and exceeded the plan. This result creates a solid foundation for the province to continue to complete the socio -economic development goals in 2025, aiming to improve the quality of life of people in mountainous and disadvantaged areas.
