Vam Cai Sut Bridge across Buong River on Huong Lo 2 route is a key project of Dong Nai province. The project started in October 2020, and to date, the main part of the bridge has been basically completed.

Currently, the contractor is constructing the embankment and monitoring the settlement of the bridgehead road at pier M2. The construction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2024 (the reason is that the settlement of the bridgehead road at pier M2 needs 450 days according to the design documents).

The connecting road was registered for construction by two enterprises that own the land through which the road passes according to Dong Nai province's planning, but due to problems with investment procedures and site clearance, it has not been able to be implemented.

Dong Nai Traffic Works Project Management Board, the investor of the Vam Cai Sut bridge project, proposed the Provincial People's Committee to urgently arrange a plan to build the road connecting Huong Lo 2, the section from Vam Cat Sut bridge to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway intersection to put Vam Cat Sut bridge into operation.

Dong Nai Department of Planning and Investment said that it is consulting the Provincial People's Committee on a plan to implement the investment project of Huong Lo 2, section 2, from Vam Cai Sut bridge to the intersection of Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway.

If the connecting route is not invested in soon, it means that the Vam Cai Sut bridge will be completed but cannot be put into use, and waste is an existing risk.

Meanwhile, the Huong Lo 2 extended road project (section 1 - phase 1) has a length of nearly 2km, the starting point intersects with National Highway 51, the end point intersects with the existing asphalt road (An Hoa - Long Hung road). Up to now, after many years, it is still unfinished, due to the problem of site clearance for some households at the An Hoa bridgehead, in Long Hung commune.

The extended Huong Lo 2 is the route connecting Bien Hoa city center with Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway. Therefore, vehicles can travel along this route from Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City, shortening the distance and travel time. At the same time, this new connecting route will also contribute to reducing traffic volume on National Highway 51, which is currently seriously overloaded.
