Three injured in stabbing on Tokyo train

A spokesman for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department said police received an emergency call just before 11 p.m. Wednesday local time.

The call reported that a woman had been stabbed on the Yamanote Line, one of the city's busiest routes.

The woman has been arrested and the conditions of the three injured men are unknown, the spokesman said.

Kyodo news agency reported that none of the victims were in danger of death. NHK television initially reported that four people were stabbed.

East Japan Railway Company said the Yamanote line service was briefly suspended due to a "train incident".

Akihabara Station, traditionally home to electronics and gadget retailers, is a tourist hotspot in Tokyo.
