On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) and the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2025), the Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil coordinated with the Association of Wives and Husbands of Heads of Diplomatic Missions (GCCM) in the capital city of Brasília to organize a Friendship meeting with the theme "Uncle Ho with Vietnamese women and the spirit of international solidarity".
The meeting had a particularly profound meaning as it simultaneously celebrated two historical milestones – the birthday of President Ho Chi Minh , the genius leader, national liberation hero, outstanding cultural celebrity of Vietnam, and the founding day of the Vietnam Women's Union, an organization representing millions of Vietnamese women throughout the ages.
These two sacred milestones together honor President Ho Chi Minh’s humanistic, progressive ideology and strategic vision on the role of women and the spirit of international solidarity. He always considered women as a great revolutionary force, the “firekeepers” of family happiness, and at the same time “steadfast soldiers” on all fronts, from resistance to national construction.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, the wife of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil, Pham Thi Thu Hong, sent warm greetings to the wives of the Heads of Diplomatic Missions. She emphasized that since the early days of the revolutionary career, President Ho Chi Minh has always cared about, believed in and highly appreciated the role of women in society. He once affirmed: "The beautiful landscape of Vietnam is woven and embroidered by our women, young and old, to make it more beautiful and brilliant."
According to Uncle Ho, women are not only the support of the family but also an important social force, a "comrade, a trusted comrade in arms" in every period of the nation's history. He always encouraged women to rise up, study, contribute, and affirm their capacity and qualities in social life.

Mrs. Pham Thi Thu Hong also shared that President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on international solidarity not only contributed to the victory of the Vietnamese revolution but also spread profound humanistic values throughout the world. He always valued the friendship between the Vietnamese people and international friends, especially the solidarity between women of progressive countries, considering this one of the foundations for building a peaceful , fair and humane world.
At the end of her speech, the First Lady emotionally repeated President Ho Chi Minh's famous saying: "Our women are not ordinary, fighting in the East and pacifying the North is an example for all generations" and sent wishes of health, happiness and success to the wives and international friends.
In response, Mrs. Annet Baingana, wife of the Rwandan Ambassador and President of GCCM, expressed her sincere thanks to the Vietnamese Embassy for the thoughtful, solemn and meaningful preparations. Mrs. Annet Baingana emphasized that she greatly admires the resilience, kindness and extraordinary willpower of Vietnamese women - who are both responsible, creative, strong and full of courage in life.
The Lady also affirmed that this spirit is a testament to the strength and role of women around the world. Women, regardless of their country, can be a source of inspiration, a link between peace and friendship between nations. We need to continue to unite, share and spread good values together so that the world becomes more equal and humane.
