According to a VNA reporter in New Delhi, the band Buc Tuong - the sole representative of Vietnam - opened the third Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) - India Music Festival 2024 with famous domestic songs.
This cultural activity, which attracted the attention of a large audience, was organized by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with Seher Presents on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of India's "Act East" policy.
The music festival, which lasted from the night of November 29 to the night of December 1, featured 10 bands representing 10 ASEAN member countries and 5 Indian bands. Opening the first night, the band The Wall set the stage ablaze at Purana Qila, one of the oldest forts in Delhi.
With famous songs such as Going to sea, Balance, Summer passes by, Soul of stone, Glass rose, Long trips… Buc Tuong “burned” with all its might and captivated the music-loving hearts of Delhi audiences with the dance. Although this was the band’s first time touring India, the heat of Vietnamese rock truly “spread” to the arms and legs of thousands of South Asian audiences. The music space at Purana Qila fortress was “on fire” by the strong, individual voice of rocker Pham Anh Khoa and the fire from Buc Tuong musicians under the leadership of guitarist Tran Tuan Hung.
With elaborate preparations and fiery performances, The Wall has truly left a deep impression on the hearts of the audience in New Delhi in particular and the ASEAN-India audience in general.
In her opening remarks, Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita said that “music is a common language that inspires, heals and connects us”, adding that “this festival highlights the cultural bonds we have built over the years. It is a celebration of how music transcends borders, strengthens our bonds and strengthens the bonds that unite ASEAN and India in our shared journey of development”.
The ASEAN-India Music Festival 2024 offered audiences a rare opportunity to experience the rich, diverse sounds of both regions in one venue.
